It is, maglev uses alternating polarity to 'pull' the vehicle in one direction or another. pneumatics has nothing to do with anything on this.
Correct. The air has nothing to do with it. Linear induction motors for motion and maglev for levitation.
Correct. It uses linear induction motors for motion and Magnetic Levitation. The tube does not require a vacuum to work. It would just need aerodynamic pods and a way to vent the pressure created in front of the capsule. A vacuum would be great but not practical to the application for cost and safety reasons.
The whole point of the tube is to remove air resistance. Otherwise it would just be a train in a pointless tube.

The main problem I see with this idea is that the benefit the hyperloop has over a monorail is speed, but over the short distances at WDW you would loose most of that benefit.

Hyperloop is a greater boondoggle than Maglev. Neither can match the promises made. It does not appear that Hyperloop will ever prove to be a viable transportation option (I realize some people aren't going to like hearing that, but it is the truth).

And why is this thread in News & Rumors and not chit chat? Can you just revive any old topic and discuss whatever you want, even when it has absolutely nothing to do with Walt Disney World?

So we necro'd a thread from 2013 (that was obviously a false rumor) that hasn't had a reply in over a year to discuss an unrelated transportation system in Orlando? And then the thread went on for 6 pages?
Yes and thanks for contributing.

And a vacuum to remove aerodynamic drag. Even at the vacuum specified the liquids in your eyes and lungs will still boil off because reducing pressure reduces the boiling points of liquids and it's the damage from the liquid boiloff rather than the lack of oxygen which kills you in a vacuum incident.

Elon Musk is a rocket scientist. He says this will be the safest way to travel. It will be ubiquitous including at WDW. At least for traveling to/from.
