That type of speculation can only be matched by the false information routinely offered to paying customers by WDW bus drivers, ride operators, and churro hostesses. :D

That said, it sure wouldn't hurt to update the aesthetics and appearance of the WDW fleet to look and feel more like the Disneyland fleet. Especially the ultra-lounge night lighting in the cabins and nose cones.

love those pics. i mean seriously, how much would it cost to update the interior? pennies as far as WDW budgets are concerned. the current state of the interiors almost unforgivable.

I'd imagine it's more a function of how long they can afford to take a train offline for and extensive redo of it's internal wiring harness.

But, that's what the popcorn vendor on Main St. USA told me.

The Lot Attendant at the new Parking Garage at DTD told me that the monorails were soon going to be completely solar powered by utilizing solar cells that are being quietly integrated into Glow with the Show ears.
They have scraped that idea and were inspired by the thought that a lot of the park is powered by the electrical generator produced by Walt spinning in his grave. Word is that he's spinning faster and faster everyday. It appears that the management is not going to ever change anything that might calm him down so they might as well take advantage of all the free power.

Somebody should just slide this onto Staggs desk.....awsome.

Sad part of this thread is a major refurb of trains would not be too pricey compared to other cap x new wood floors or something washable and new bench coverings /colors maybe matte smudge free hand poles and some new led lighting done....and if your willing to bring in an outside contractor (gasp) it can be done much faster than maintance. shop.

You mean all this time that big white concrete thingy buried backstage of Future World was the Walt Spinning In His Grave Energy Generator System? And I thought that was a monorail footer! Stupid me! I should have known...

Bring them to DL and they will, I have pilots licenses from BOTH coasts

Agreed. It was great being able to ride in the front of a monorail again on our first trip to DL this past summer. Lots of great views, especially when you're traveling inside the park.

Really hope the interiors at WDW get a full overhaul. They've been looking rough for years now. I still remember how slick they looked when they were first put into service. It was pretty neat seeing some of Mark IV's still in operation as they added Mark VI's one by one though.
