i appreciate trying to get with the technology times but disney and uni need to draw the line at some point. its supposed to be a relaxing vacation. the fact people have to plan everything they want to do out months in advance is ridiculous.

spoiler alert,

look in the next 2 years at having to make reservations 4 months in advanced to be able to purchase bottled water from a concession stand when you start getting dehydrated.

The same time Santa knew if you've been naughty or nice.
Will the MagicBand know when I am sleeping and will it know when I'm awake? Because I tend to nod off during UOE.....and HOP.....and I de F. :angelic: It's cool and a little dark and I'm comfortable.

I have been asking around and got this confirmed, with a twist. This will have nothing to do with the talking character function but with fast pass plus, it will be only for fpassplus users. There are only two I've been told about with a possible third which I will list. New Minnie place in HS, the reconfigured Winnie the pooh M&G in Epcot, and the rumor is The duck m&g at AK.

From what I've heard, someone online is claiming to be breaking this info that was posted over a year ago, here on Magic. Not that I'm bragging, as this isn't a contest to see who posts info first.

At least WDWMagic doesn't charge for the info that comes straight from the Hub.

Who's santa?

The Father X-mas that Henry's reformation kicked out. ;)

And I can't go far back into the archives of the thread, but think it was referring to the M&G sites--like, oh, do any particular M&G sites spring to mind?--not ALL character interaction everywhere. Just some more knee jerks from the band-haterz.

And yes, they will know, if every bit of data is tied to the band--
So help me, if even ONE CM refers to me as "Enjoy your day, EricJ", I'll whisper "SHH! Don't spread it around--Nobody else knows I'm here!"

Thanks for getting this song stuck in my head all day. :D

(Hey, at least somebody finally remembered some OTHER scene from Year Without a Santa Claus!)

Certainly makes sense. Some of the interactions planned are going to require either a MagicBand or RFID card.

How long until someone registers their name as a rude word or their names together form something funny.
I can see such scheme backfiring quite spectacular.

Apparently they already have filters in place for this. On another thread over the last several weeks, someone said their MB's didn't ship and they didn't know why. Turns out the bands didn't get customized because the word they use as a nickname for their son and had requested on his band is offensive in the UK... or something along those lines.

I am confused isn't this a fan site? Everytime I come on here it is just negative. Apparently WDW is just the root of all evil and you people just need something to complain about. There is no doubt in my mind that if Disney came out with a list of 10 things coming and 9 of them were brand new state of the best attractions in the world and the other just a M&G. You people on here would be complaining how cheap disney is that they didn't do 10 of the best attractions. I come to this site for updates on new things and tips for planning my next trip. I guess I can get that elswhere because on here it is just a bunch of complainers.

.

Dont worry theres plenty of folk like you who moan about moaners moaning, before moaning that the moaning gets you down. And as you say information is freely available so dont feel bad about going to seek it elsewhere, especially as its info on new things you seek, that limited information is even available on Disneys own site, though if I am honest they do tend to be a little liberal in what they define as new.
Im sure the mummy blogger sites would be right up your street, lots of corporate loyalty and none of the nasty critical commentary, rose tinted all the way, hurrah.

We need time for things to happen.

I like planning, but I'll admit things are a bit out of hand, I also don't begrudge folks who don't enjoy planning when on vacation. However saying that a vacation at WDW is SUPPOSED to be relaxing - that to me isn't the case at WDW. It CAN be VERY relaxing, shopping dining, water parks, pool, resort hopping, shows, etc. and you can take advantage of all of that with little to NO planning!

However if you plan on hitting all or a lot of the rides at 4 of the most popular, gigantic theme parks in the world, then you're going to have to plan or you can throw anything that resembles relaxing out the window.

Going to the Carribean and watching the waves is relaxing. Going skiiing in the mountains is relaxing. Lounging about on a cruise ship is relaxing. Going camping under the stars is relaxing. We've done all of those, and they are great.

Going to Las Vegas is not relaxing. Going to New York City is not relaxing. We've done those too, and they are also great.

Some vacation destinations are less stressful by design, and some are a little more (which can be part of the fun). Your expectations of what a WDW vacation is supposed to be is unreasonable. If you want to relax, you should try something else on your next vacation instead.

Now wait a minute, of course you can relax on a WDW vacation. Just don't plan ahead at all, chill out at the resort all day, wake up at 11, eat at a nice restaurant, maybe check out a fishing excursion or something. Of course, if that's what you really want, there are alot cheaper places to get that than WDW. . .

Well here's my issue. I used FP+ over Spring Break and saw it to be useful for two things, Soarin and Toy Story Mania. Other than that I felt like it was pretty ridiculous to have to plan my fps in advance only to show up to a ride and realize that I didn't need them. Then I would be on my phone trying to switch them to something else and planning and planning and planning. It was actually quite annoying. This is coming from someone that loves to plan Disney trips. I mean I have Excel Sheets with all of our plans and I love updating them but the entire ride thing is ridiculous. The best solution would have been to make them all fps that you can get the old fashioned way but allowing you to select a time. No pre-booking. You can walk up to a ride and reserve a time that works for you. Same rules as the old system. No paper (since that was such a big deal). Soarin' and Toy Story, you have to be an early riser, just like in the past. Done, and look that didn't cost billions of dollars. OMG I'm a genius!

I must be missing something.....was this confirmed somewhere that you will need a magicband for meet and greets?

I don't think so. I was wondering the same thing, because I don't know of anything that you have to have a MB for that you can't do with a ticket.
