My better judgement knows this, I'm just currently freaking out at the prospect that it's even being mentioned as a rumor.Nope. No indication of it one way or the other.

We've been over this a million times - Disney does not CARE what Universal does.
Realistically though, DHS needs a totally reworking. And it's tough to do that without closing significant amounts of attractions so they can be demolished and a new setup built. DHS has been expanded piecemeal since it opened and (quite frankly) that option isn't working well. The layout of the park sucks and needs mulligan and a fresh restart.
Nope. No indication of it one way or the other.
They'll care once people stop coming to the parks.
Might its future presence be tied to the success of ABC's Muppets comedy?
THEY HAVE.
Do you even read my attendance/crowd analyses? Do you even pay attention that DHS pulls an off-peak crowd 38% of this year, 5% worse than the 33% of all of last year?
Or that despite the Frozen singalong, they still draw an average or below crowd 58% of the time during the first six months of this year?
Or that DHS is on the outlier of all the parks in every attendance category?
You take June away from DHS and they're having an abysmal year.
All the more reason they should DO SOMETHING!
Well, of course. But it doesn't seem like they're even doing THAT. Did they do this sort of thing with Disney's California Adventure, too?
They are.
Or are you not paying attention?
Still, they're taking forever to get started. The more rides they close without getting started on new ones, the more likely it is that people are gonna stop coming to the park. Time is of the essence, Disney!
RE: TCM and GMR, they are a natural match for each other. There hasn't been further discussion on whether TCM would be a sponsor for any other attraction other than GMR. Not to say that couldn't happen in the future, however, if the sponsorship works creatively.@articos addressed this issue in the other thread, but it seems it needs to be repeated here:
There are a lot of shenanigans that goes on with contractors and WDI that's gone on for a long time and really doesn't have anything to do with Iger. They approved the plans, budget etc. The ridiculous time frames have little to do with Iger and Disney so much. Universal Creative is much different than WDI in a lot of aspects of operations and why there's such disparity in time frames and money when it comes to projects.Still, they're taking forever to get started. The more rides they close without getting started on new ones, the more likely it is that people are gonna stop coming to the park. Time is of the essence, Disney!

Late to this news..opps. Sorry if this has been answered already, but I realize Animation has been confirmed to close, One Man's Dream has been rumored, but are the rumblings about Muppets closing also true?
It's odd that they didn't just wait until now to close Backlot....

theyWhat makes you say they're haven't?
I mean other than they haven't sent a marching band and parade to your house, complete with a herald of trumpeters, that they have read your message board posts and have decided immediately and shall commence construction forthwith of their $2.8B makeover of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Taking it only TSPL will be planned to ready by spring 2017...not sure if that's enough to justify another visit before it's all completed. Unfortunately I would want 4 full day/ multi day parks to justify the added cost of staying on resort at Disney.
I am apologizing ahead of time in case this was already discussed. I was on the Disney blog site today and they have a post up regarding the wildfire rumors about the 3+ billion budget approved for DHS (and other stuff). They were discussing how Disney can't use the main Marvel based characters east of the Mississippi. However, one point of interest in the blog was the following:
...yesterday evening James Gunn, who directed Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and is currently in pre-production on its sequel, held a periscope chat where he didn’t talk too much about the sequel, but I’m told he did mention how excited he was about an upcoming Disney World ride based on Guardians of the Galaxy. Wait? Could that even happen? Gunn has since deleted the periscope, so perhaps he leaked something he wasn’t supposed to?
So, do people on other sites not as cool as this one make stuff up? Or did anyone else anywhere here about this? Just curious.
