Rumor: Details on Disney's Hollywood Adventure

To my earlier point: if Disney can use Guardians in Orlando but cannot use the other incredibly marketable Marvel characters, then it would be silly to put a Guardians attraction in Anaheim instead of Orlando.

That's my opinion as well (or, perhaps, use the GotG in both places). Put the more mainstream Marvel characters in Anaheim -- Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, etc. which could easily be done in a coherent themed area. And put GotG in WDW where they are able to be used and can compliment the rest of the DHS extreme makeover.

just IMHO.

Jim... you're a bit behind. But yes, they opened up the faucets and are making it rain and making Star Wars and Pixar fans very happy.

Iam very behind about this stuff. Everyday its something new. I just might have to spend more time here...

Jimmy Thick- I would write a clever song lyric from a Clash song but... Nah...

Get a clue? Disney cannot use elements of the Marvel Universe (the definition of which is frequently debated, but I digress) within 300 miles of Universal without having a huge and immediate lawsuit. Here's the license agreement:

Anaheim can and thus should use the more iconic Marvel characters that line the store shelves in Toys R Us.

East of the Mississippi, not 300 miles.

Considering the thoughts along these lines, and the imminent future, is anybody else worried about the park "vibe" or feel being effected? I've always enjoyed this park because of the entrance (Hollywood Blvd), and the streetmosphere. I'm not saying I don't want to see changes to the park, but there's just something about the feel that I get in the area of Hollywood and Sunset, that's like no other. It would seem that these two areas will stay as-is, but I just have to wonder what the mix of attractions and themes will result in for the park vibe. I know Disney Imagineering has the ability to work thru all this and create a balance, but I'm still worried about it.

Count me as one that's worried. I'm excited about *ANYTHING* that can and might happen on the south end west sides of the park. But I hope that any updates/additions/expansions/etc in and along Hollywood/Sunset Blvds have minimal-to-no impact on the streetmosphere. You'll find several other posts in this forum where I state that the Citizens of Hollywood and Hollywood Public Works are one of my favorite ways to spend time at DHS. Half-day park? No...I could spend the better part of a full day taking in the CoH/HPW sets.

Will DHS get anything aside from Star Wars and Pixar? Indy and Guardians would be a nice change of pace. Star Wars deserves a huge land but we already have tons of pixar in all the parks and its just going to be modified clones of Cars Land and that off the shelf toy story stuff from China. lame.

Guardians can be used east of the Mississippi.

Indeed. This is well established at this point, so there is no need to rehash the debate.

The question is will the Guardians of the Galaxy be used in WDW? Did Gunn slip out a tidbit of inside info about something coming to WDW? Or was he mis-speaking and meant Disneyland, not Disney World. The irony being if it were (say) Joss Whedon and he said an Avengers attractions coming to WDW, then we would know he was just talking about the wrong resort. But since the topic was GotG, it is plausible that he was correct in the resort he mentioned.

@articos is a sneaky fellow who's always very discrete in his hint-giving. I'd suspect that the outlook of Guardians at DHS would be much more optimistic if he were to "like" this post (hint hint).

Taking it only TSPL will be planned to ready by spring 2017...not sure if that's enough to justify another visit before it's all completed. Unfortunately I would want 4 full day/ multi day parks to justify the added cost of staying on resort at Disney.
