RCID has:

30,752 acres total (including some new lands that are still going through the permitting process)
• 8,348 acres of Wildlife Management and Conservation Area (WMCA) (of which 7,613 acres are wetlands and 735 acres are uplands). The WMCA is under a conservation easement dedicated to South Florida Water Management District.
• 6,855 acres of wetlands;
• 6,494 acres of uplands; and
• 9,055 acres of developed lands.

How much of that remains un-developed or might be available for future use?

"Ride" indicates that you physically board some kind of vehicle and move. "Attraction" includes rides but also includes things like stage shows, meet and greets, walkthroughs, etc. Tower of Terror is both a ride and an attraction. One Man's Dream is an attraction, but not a ride. If you say "attraction" for everything, you'll never be wrong.

And then there is the perfect blending of the two, "Ellen Degeneres Wins Trivia and Pokes Dinosaurs with Sticks while you the Guest are Bathed in Cooled Air (EDWTaPDwSwytGaBiCA)" in what most agree is the best ride/attraction in history.

that just leaves 13397. acres unused and not earmarked for conservation... that number does not take into account the condition of the land though

2.8B is a ton an ton of money for this park! Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax as more info will be leaked over the coming weeks. We just need to be patient young padawans!

Today's hubub is all about Marvel. If only there was a place in Central Florida where Marvel already was.... a place where you could literally ride the Hulk and meet Captain America.... hmmmm. If only such a place existed. Maybe somewhere near Conroy and Kirkman?

I cant wait for schools to start back up....

They are currently only permitted to develop 234 acres of the non-preservation wetlands. There is currently a permit waiting approval that would allow them to impact another 350 acres of wetland. Yes, they could request the ability to impact more, but since they are only asking for another 350, they don't seem to be in any rush to do this.

That is so dead on! We could just say Marvel = Universal in Orlando. Marvel does not = WDW

2015- DTD gets much needed facelift.
2016- Frozen replacing Norway at Epcot.
2017- Avatar opening at AK.
2018?- Possible DHS repackage.

Can we safely assume Disney is spending money in Florida now or is that not good enough?

Disney has no Iimits in Orlando......you must be kidding......good god get a clue! 30,000 acres and 60 million guests are you for REAL???
Get a clue? Disney cannot use elements of the Marvel Universe (the definition of which is frequently debated, but I digress) within 300 miles of Universal without having a huge and immediate lawsuit. Here's the license agreement:
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1262449/000119312510008732/dex1057.htm

To my earlier point: if Disney can use Guardians in Orlando but cannot use the other incredibly marketable Marvel characters, then it would be silly to put a Guardians attraction in Anaheim instead of Orlando. Anaheim can and thus should use the more iconic Marvel characters that line the store shelves in Toys R Us.

Jim... you're a bit behind. But yes, they opened up the faucets and are making it rain and making Star Wars and Pixar fans very happy.
