'rude' or 'ignorant'......that is the question.

This related to a CM being rude to a Guest.
And......
It appears that around 35,000 WDW workers are in the Union..........
I don't think any of those in the union though work in retail....they are custodial, ride operators and housekeeping.

I seem to find people in Starbucks in general are the worst. Something about getting to bark out their elaborate coffee order to people seems to bring out the worst in people.

When my daughter and I went to DL this last summer, we stopped by one of the downtown Disney starbucks so she can get a drink. Well, they had a huge line and she ordered her macchiato and the cashier said, "as is?" We said yes, the cashier said it was the first order of the day that was not a "special" order. She said that people were ordering them strange like upside down, and stirred 3 times, etc. I think people do this just to be jerks sometimes.

Behavior like this is why the parks continue to be dumbed down. Why bother paying attention to small details when more and more guests behave like this? :banghead::in pain:
I totally agree with you! I notice this type of rude behavior more and more in the Disney parks and it's made me rethink my future vacations. This guy had to know he was doing something disgusting, and if by chance he didn't, what does that say about his upbringing. :(

I know most people agree that socially acceptable ques are sometimes not adhered to at the Disney Parks. Take for an instance the fine gentleman who thought it prudent to dunk tumblers for ice and ice water. That same gentleman could have stood in line to get his coffee and requested iced water in his tumblers because a request like that is perfectly normal in every other SBUX I ever been to. The fact that he decided to dip them into a community water tank, does show the obliviousness, audacity and even entitlement of certain people.
To be fair, he could have been a doting Father getting ice water for his family any way possible. We have been there when the lapse of judgement happens, from heat, lines, over priced conveniences, then snap. Doesn't excuse it, but I can understand it. Your passive aggressive response was probably more effective than you think.

After dressing up my Starbucks coffee with cream and sugar I waited for my turn to fill a paper cup with water from the self service glass water tank which is positioned at the same prep area.

Just when I was about to get some water a man jumped in with 3 smaller sized tumblers, cutting in front of me.
Normally I have something to say here but (1) I'm holding my 15 month baby girl with one arm and (2) he was clearly somebody who could readily wipe the floor with me if things turned terrible.

He then took off the water tank lid and dipped one of his 3 tumblers inside to get ice....while doing it I saw his wrist and hand went into the water supply (a clear glass water tank). His wrist came out dripping, too. He then filled 2 tumblers and a partial 3rd at the tap before the water supply was depleted......he left nothing.

After committing the 3 sins below,
A) Cutting in line
B) Dunked hand in water
C) Monopolized the very limited water,

he noticed that I was watching him and then he offered "oh, you have a baby....would you like some of mine(water)?"

Of course I told him that I would just wait for the staff to refill the tank.

Is he a wipe or just oblivious?
I lean towards oblivious.
What a jerk! Its funny how years go by and I still remember the rudeness of Disney park guests. Back in 93 I remember my family and I sitting in the Little Mermaid show in what back then was called Disney MGM studios. And this man sitting right in front of us just big and bold as you please picked up his kid and set him on top of his shoulders blocking the view of every one sitting directly behind him. Of course I tapped him on the shoulder and said excuse me sir but the rest of us back here sharing this theater with you cannot see. He did not put the child down right away but waited a few seconds then did. But Its weird how I still remember that after all these years. I mean I just do not understand the rudeness of some people and why they can possibly think the things they do will be excepted by those around them.

I would quit in a hilariously loud fashion, probably within a day when Jaxxden’s mom wants a triple venti caramel macchiato with goats milk stirred counter clockwise using a grapefruit spoon.

MAKE SURE IT'S 145 DEGREES!

What’s funny is, I rarely go in to a Starbucks, and when I do it’s usually at WDW. And these orders....you’d think the way they are barking it out that they’re getting the Waygu Beef at Victoria and Alberts.

The closest I see to this usually is like Subway, where people will nitpick every topping (and demand about 2 sandwiches worth of toppings) Probably why I don’t eat at Scrubway unless I have no other option

The answer is pretty simple. The world is a look out only for myself kind of place now. People are well aware of what they are doing, they just don't care. And when you couple that with the cost of Disney, the its all about me attitude explodes off the charts. This guy knew dang well you shouldn’t stick your hand in the water or cut in line, but he didn't care. It's someone elses problem, not his. He paid thousands of dollars to be there, so rules and courtesy be darned.
I think I’ll stick to buying bottled water!

I know some people who do this because they feel it's superior to washing your hands (used to see it at work a lot), but there was an FDA report a few years ago that said there's nothing to show it as being any more effective than common hand washing with soap. There was also concern that the sanitizers may do more harm than good in the long run. Not sure about any of the science behind it, but the people I know that are fanatical hand sanitizer users also seem to always be sick. So, it's good old soap and water for us.
I agree, alcohol based hand sanitizes are not effective on c-diff (clostridium difficile spore type) and norovirus infections. It is recommended that soap and water be used, as this can be passed to others via the gi tract. In other words, people use the potty, and those germs get on surfaces, we touch those surfaces, touch our mouths, and viola!

At that point, I mean between hearing on here I need to heat the water up to 400 degrees and wash my hands in it for half an hour, and this, I mean...is the next step just wearing masks like they do in Japan? It would be nice if people just stayed home/in their rooms instead of going to the parks sick, but...hahahaha yeah that’s never happening.

Whoever made society here feel people should go to work/school/out in public sick should be fired into the sun on a WDW Bus from the All Star resort.

Right? I've not been to Starbucks often, but I've seen people bark specific temperatures as they're placing their whack-o orders. :joyfull:

Won't it spill if you hold it at that angle ?

Literally laughing out loud over here. :hilarious:
