Roll Back Offer

Last week upon checking out of POFQ we were offered a roll back offer 40% villa, 30% deluxe and moderate, my wife and I took advantage of 40% off room rate to the Bay Lake Tower 11/30-12/5.

We enjoyed our vacation and got to spend it with my brother, sister in-law and my neice. But I was not crazy about POFQ, it rained one day and because we made such a quick plans we were unable to really get any dining reservations that we wanted except Yachtsman Steakhouse, which is always a good meal.

Am I crazy for making another reservation before even coming home? My wife thinks so, I think the next one will be perfect, great hotel (hopefully), monorail, Christmas Party, etc... The deal was to good to pass up Studio rooms are usually 400, Im paying 270 a night.

Thanks, I hope so

3 weeks come pretty quickly, if you get a bounce back offer it may be worth it to cancel your October res and rebook, depending on what your paying.

40% is a great deal. I got a pin from Disney Visa for 40% off and used it for basically the same time you are going in December.

The price was to good to pass up and was a better deal then free dining in September.

I think you are amazingly brilliant for taking the offer! You can tell your wife I said that - one wife to another.

Oh, I so want to stay there. It will be such a treat to be that close to MK. I've stayed at the Contemporary, but villas are just so delightful.

Enjoy and then tell us all about it!

We were originally going to go in August but family ended up going in May so we changed our reservation.

I had a couple of issues with the POFQ, first being the fact that I would have to take a bus to the only sit-down restaurant close by. I don't want to eat Hamburgers, hotdogs, fastfood, everyday, every meal. I like to save my fast food for lunch at the park, not lunch and dinner. Then it poured out one day and I was stuck running to the restaurant for dinner for the family. We also seemed like we were waiting for buses for at least twenty minutes to the parks. The room was decent for the price but it seemed dull for my taste. The room was clean but we did notice little fruit flies around the bathroom sinks. Our first visit with our daughter last year was at the Animal Kingdom, loved the restaurants, theming, but hated the location and bus service.

We did like the small size of the resort, we also liked mousekeeping, the pool and the guests that stayed at the resort.

I was sad to hear Boatwright's closed for breakfast. POFQ used to have a sit down as well...Bon Families (sp?) that had great breakfast....I don't know what they are thinking...looks like they're turning PO into a value:cry:(no offense to those who like value resorts). Or the mods are getting phased out...think about it, CS getting suites and remodeled w/ queen beds:drevil:. More dumping on the middle class . Sorry I got off topic!

My brother and I both got the offer but I know other people at the hotel who did not, so I wonder if it's random or if it had to do with the package we booked.

We're just back from POFQ too, and like you we booked a bounceback. We'll be going to Coronado, but the week after you in December (a little closer to Christmas.) I don't think you're crazy at all... because if you are, then so are we! It certainly eases park withdrawal knowing we're going back so soon. And the discount was too good to pass up.

I loved POFQ. It was just as quiet as promised. I don't like noise. But I was bothered by the buses and fruit flies as well. They were around our toilet, tub and sinks and (unfortunately) around out refillable mugs. Gross. And the wait for buses was brutal. Not at all what I was expecting. We never waited less than 20 mins for a bus. We arrived at the bus stop at 8:45 am for a 10 am Typhoon Lagoon opening. Several DTD buses came and went but none going to Typhoon. Finally one came at 9:55 am and we arrived close to 10:30 am - missing rope drop. We also waited over an hour for a bus to DTD one night - we almost missed Cirque! I should've just taken the boat!

The bus system was really annoying, we were at the stop about 9 each morning, and with a packed crowd waited at least 20 minutes to a 1/2 hour. But the boat to DTD was no better as we waited over 40 minutes for that. Overall the resort is good, rooms clean, small and compact, cool pool but their are negatives and they are the bus system, no sit down, and the fruit flies.

I would have stayed at a Moderate but my wife needs some pampering to convince her to go to WDW next trip. (We usually also visit Atlantis, Bahamas - as I dont pay for rooms so it is a much cheaper trip, card player) So since we went to Disney next trip would be her choice and obviously she has to be a pain and would rather lay on the beach everyday. So the 40% off a Deluxe Villa, with giving her one or two days by herself at the pool, should seal the deal. She knows already but wont let me talk about it!!

December should be great, never been to Disney before, I went the last week in November hoping that it doesnt interfere with XMas gifts for the family, not immediate as this will be our gift to each other basically.

Do you think they will offer bounce back offers in September? If you book the bounce back offer, how far in advance can you book? Is it just a 6 month period or what?

I dont see why they wouldnt offer bounce back offers in September. I booked mine over 7 months away, I know there were other weeks in December available but were to close to Christmas for me, and after Christmas was blackedout.
