ROE Test Show

Looks like some people here agree that the globe is kind of dull. Last time I saw it, the colors weren't very vibrant. Even before that, I always though the globe was kind of boring, I mean, staring at a small spinning globe with random pictures from around the world isn't all that exciting to me.

What about projecting videos on Spaceship Earth? I've seen pictures of SE where they project images on it before. What about more lasers? That would be more interesting than staring at another video for 5 minutes.

The pictures are not random. There is a storyline to the show. It's more like "perfomance art" than a literal story.

Trust me, there are many people who love this show.

I just got back and am thawing out now.

The globe was definitely MIA, as was the opening narration by Mr. Jim Cummings. I am uploading the video now - please give me like 10-20 minutes.

BTW - Without the globe, the show clocks in at just under 10 minutes (3 minutes shorter than usual).

Awesome!! :sohappy:

I just hope this means they are moving forward with the rehab now. We'll be down in June and a refreshed globe and SSE will be great!!

Hmm, very interesting developments! A video will be good to see once it's uploaded. It'll be weird for me as I'm so used to seeing it with the globe. Wonder if this is a permanent change or a temporary globe refurb?

Yep, just got back and there was no globe. Didn't see anything extra to fill in for its absence though, but I'm not a seasoned Illuminations vet so I may not have caught the changes.

There were some changes to fill in the gaps - a few new effects that were pretty neat.

The best part - during the first appearance of the Inferno Barge this woman standing next to me exclaims "Is that supposed to happen?!" I think you can hear it in my video. I had to bite my lip to not burst out laughing.

Am I the only one who likes this version of the show better?

There are definitely some effects form this version that they should incorporate with the regular show.

I miss the globe! Even though it could use some improvements, I love the pictures of animals that run across it during the show. That's always been my favorite part!
Surprisingly, it still is really good without it, though.

No you're not! I love this version! Do we Really need the globe and the name "Reflections of Earth"?

Can't we just use IllumiNations?

I will admit however, part of "We Go On" did feel empty without the Globe.

How long will this version run and will the new effects be with the globe?

Yeah. For me, if there's one thing that's ruined by not having the globe, its the ending. Having the globe open to reveal a flaming torch is very dramatic. Not having that is kind of a let down. That being said, they did a very good job for not having the globe in there, and I think they should place some of the effects from this version to enhance the original.
