I work for a sales rep of Sylvania lighting products and after talking to a source that handles a lot of the Disney "new tech" lighting, he said that he wouldn't be surprised if the attraction was up and running in late December. He said that the track is already installed and that when then made the props for DCA, they just made two. Last he heard they were in storage on property already. And when you think about it, they have 8 months till Decenber.
He did say that internally, Spring Break 2012 is the target area date.

Thanks for the info!

What a coincidence, the DCA version got their track installed less than 6 months ago and then they started installing set pieces.

But I am sure it will take another year and half from now. Uh-huh :zipit::lol:

Dude stop being an egotistical attention-. It's really sickening. Do you have any knowledge in construction at all? Stop pretending that you know everything.

This is a case of don't shoot the messenger: Lee says that he heard it was to open in 2012- thats not what he wants to happen, thats what he heard. Would it be nice if it opened up this year? Heck yes it would. But thats not what Lee's heard. Sure, its possible there was a change, but for now, given his track record, I say he has earned our trust. If he's wrong (through no fault of his own) then good, we get the ride earlier. If not, then good, his information was valid.

(And to clear things up, I have been reading these boards religiously for a year and a half before I joined, so...yeah.)

Since you're new here you probably don't realize the awesome power of Legoland that has Disney shaking in its boots. You see, it's a relatively small amusment park opening in a distant location that has a track record of failure. And it's themed to legos.

I'm sure it all makes sense now, right?

In my days of forum lurking, I came across many of those posts. *facepalm.

Legos are awesome and everything, but for all of those reasons you've previously stated, Legoland will not be a threat to Disney. IMO the only threat to Disney comes from within (if it alienates itself from its "heritage" of theming and innovation). But that's another story...

Well said.

Although you have probably gone and gotten yourself branded as a doom and gloomer. :hammer:

That is not all that hard to do. I am pretty sure I have been labeled as such and I am one of the most glass half full people on the forum.

If you had been here as long as you say then you should know that I have been clear about Legoland. I have specifically said it is not a threat to put the MK out of business. Seriously, how could you assume anyone could think that? That is is "facepalm worthy" right there! To assume anyone could think that you have to have a low opinion of others and/or an inflated opinion of yourself. And you call me out? What I have said is it is a threat to the MK's profit margins. More than Potterland which actually helps Disney in ways I have clearly explained. Legoland is different which is why Disney is responding to it. They are not building the FLE just for the fun of it. It is a business decision.

Master Yoda, you can't quote Carl Sagan the 'armchair philosopher/secular theologian/smarter-than-everyone-just-ask-him guru' and call yourself a "glass half full" person too. Unless you were quoting him to give us all a good laugh. In which case it worked for me  See.

why cut off?

Because I have this dream all the other divisions will be financially self sufficient and WDW's profits can be reinvested in WDW instead of propping up everyone else. DLR needs to be pushed out of the nest, sink or swim, tough love, pull itself up by the bootstraps, get er done, cowboy up etc.

Legoland has nothing to do with FLE.
FLE has been in the works for about 6 years, way before Legoland was even discussed.

Do you even know who Carl Sagan is? Do you even know what optimism is for that matter?
