its a great ride with no drops, plus its in the dark, so you cant really get any concept of height. Its totaly worth it, like others say, ride in the front and keep your head back.

I believe its 1 minute and 22 seconds. atleast I think thats what the Celebrations magazine stated. :ROFLOL:,but for the OP.. Deffinately give it a try. It is a tame rollercoaster and the music really adds some pump. You'll be fine.
Depending on weight and time of day the main run from launch to end brakes is 60 - 80 seconds. Maximum track elevation is around 75ft above Sunsets southern end (Sunsets highest point is around 60ft above sea level)

No drops, and its pathetically short, so if you do muster up the courage to do it, just remember that its pathetically short for a roller coaster so you wont be "punished" for long. And also its obnoxiously bumpy. Seats toward the front offer up a smoother ride(but its still obnoxiously bumpy and loud!!)and seats toward the back are really bumpy.

Either way, good luck. Hope you get to ride it. You're honestly not missing much, but its still a ride to try once.

I had a problem with the launch. it's very fast and looks unsettling, but really it's like riding in a convertible and getting a rush of adrenaline.

(: The rest isn't bad, and if its drops you are worried about then you should be okay to ride.

This is kind of a strange tip but during the ride, push your head back into the seat as much as you can. The ride goes so fast that sometimes my head bounces around between the restraint. Usually when I get off, I have a bit of a headache (it goes away quickly :) ) I find that if I push my head back against the seat it helps.

Oh, and enjoy! You will love it :D

GREAT tip actually! The first time I rode it in 2005, I did not keep my head back and the launch made me almost throw up. :hurl: I got off with a pretty bad headache too. When I rode it last year, I kept my head back and eyes open and it felt WAY better. Felt awesome after I got off and now I absolutely LOVE this ride! Can't wait to ride it in 1 years time again!!!

Also, found this tip works good on Expedition Everest too, especially during the backwards part. I don't know why I had my head down during the backwards part the first year I rode EE, but I did and had a wicked headache the rest of that day. Last year, I kept my head tight against the back of the seat and the backwards part was nothing!

Yes! Make sure to follow this advice!

Yeah Have a friend who did not follow this advice...She tried to keep her head off the head pad (yes I know moronic and still have no clue as to why) especially at the launch..Yeah she had a very bad headache and bad neck pain...Head back at ALL times!!!

It is a great ride! I have sinus issues but always suck it up for this ride...Usaually have a headache for a brief minute or two afterwards..But so worth it! Now hopefully this will be the year the soon to be 10 year old will stop chickening out and just go on it! The 6 year old , is dying to go on it , she constantly is checking her height (we have it marked in a door way how high she needs or needed to be for certain ride) and that is last big one for her!!

Just look at the building.. it can only be that high seeing as it's all in there! you can see it behind R'n'R's quieing area, it's orange or something you cant miss it. the building isn't all that high

From one chicken to another.....

Ride it! When our family of 4 went to DW last October, I was determined to be brave and try some new rides, if only so that our 7 year old DD could try some rides that she was nervous to try on our prior trip. On that trip, DH and DS (9) went on everything while I (happily) stayed back with DD. This time I vowed to be braver.

The first ride on which I overcame my fear was Big Thunder. Both DD and I really enjoyed it. Then we braved Splash Mtn for the first time. The final drop was a bit much for me. However, since it was only one drop and was over before I had time to be scared, overall I liked the ride. Next we braved Dinosaur, and although it was a bit jerky, the theming was really cool and DD & I really liked the ride.

Finally it was time to try RNRC. I knew I wouldn't try EE because of the drops, but DH convinced me that RNRC was fast with inversions but very smooth and no drops. as we were standing in the loading area next to get on, I saw the group in front of us depart screaming at the speed of the takeoff. i nearly chickened out. In fact, DS looked at me and said with disbelief, "Mommy, are you crying?" Well, I was in fact tearing up, but DD was taking her cue from me as to how afraid to be, so I promptly got myself together and got on the ride. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I was scared to death as it was the first time I ever experienced inversion, but there were no drops at all, and I loved it! So did DD.

So from one chicken to another, just ride it!

JillC....I do believe you have convinced me to ride!!!! You sound exactly like me about rides.

The last time we were in WDW in 2008, I rode Mission Space and vowed I would never get on it again. My stomach constantly felt like it was dropping (a sensation I just am not crazy about). My husband said if I could ride that ride....I should be able to ride any coaster out there. He was selling....I wasn't buying...ha ha

Wish me luck everyone...

Me too! Doesn't seem to bother my family though.

You won't regret the decission. This is possibly the best coaster at Disney. My three sons (12, 12, and 9) and I rode this several times in a row last year before closing....they loved it.....

Enjoy your trip.
