JillC....I do believe you have convinced me to ride!!!! You sound exactly like me about rides.

The last time we were in WDW in 2008, I rode Mission Space and vowed I would never get on it again. My stomach constantly felt like it was dropping (a sensation I just am not crazy about). My husband said if I could ride that ride....I should be able to ride any coaster out there. He was selling....I wasn't buying...ha ha

Wish me luck everyone...

I'm so glad! I hope you love it.
So now you can help me out. I've never ridden Mission: Space and I've been curious to try it. Which version did you ride that made you so queasy? If it was Orange, would you be willing to try the Green? As a fellow drop-hater, would you recommend the ride to me at all?
Thanks in advance.

I rode the Orange version...full blown version that felt like drops constantly....I was able to make it through, but if I had known before hand I do not believe I would have gone on the ride. I have not been on the Green version, but I may give it a try this trip. They say it is a lot milder....

Well since I can't get back to the World until March 2011 (argh!), I'll just look for your trip report!

In regards to Mission: Space, if you're not scared of enclosed spaces go for the Green team. All it does is move around, no spinning or real big dropping feeling.

Green version is MUCH better if Orange is too much for you.. I rode the Orange before but the pressure bothers me too much and I have a hard time breathing so I only do the Green side now. Green feels similar to a more enclosed Star Tours with less jerkiness IMO. If you can handle that than you should be fine. :)

I also have a fear of drops (I have a hard time doing Splash), and I do RnR all the time. It's fast but it's very smooth and over really quickly. The launch is my favorite part! It's an awesome feeling to go that fast out of nowhere.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is an enclosed steel roller coaster ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort and at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. The roller coaster accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds.
