And if you're paying $100.00 per day to go there, you should be ashamed of yourself. That would make you one of those suckers that are born every minute. Words and music by P.T. Barnum!
Actually Music by Cy Coleman... I saw the original cast! Jim Dale and the unknown newcomer Glenn Close!

Was just contacted by a cast member about the email I had sent regarding my frustrations. They were able to switch my Mama melrose ADR to November 11th, and provided me with VIP fantasmic seating, since they cannot switch the fantasmic package. Must say, I'm impressed and my faith in Disneys customer service has been restored.

Interesting casting call email I got from the casting agency that deals with Disney World commercials. Very well could be related.

True...it never was, but now that even more has closed, the lack of rides seems more acute to me...and amazing there is a rumor of the removal of the great movie ride before any of the new construction is complete...which will bring it down to 4 rides...then if there are any technical dificulties on any rides during that time it could be three rides... that is just nuts...
I think the ideal solution would be for Disney to make the park hopping option free while DHS is in this state of flux.

That seems like a very reasonable solution. Yes, maintenance should happen, but Disney could offer additional entertainment because of the park's current condition or lower the price. I feel like Disney is the type of company one would hope would offer some symbol of understanding, it is hard for people not to feel let down by a park that has removed so much in a short span of time.

Has anyone been to Hollywood Studios recently? Does it seem 'empty', as in people not attractions?

I'm so curious as to what to expect on our trip.
Compared to 2015. From these boards I'm assuming that the crowds will be very light, but from everyone I know who's been recently- they've said it was crowded.

In July it never felt empty, but with the dead ends and closed areas in the back of the park, there is simply less space for everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if attendance is down, but it doesn't necessarily feel that way IMO.

I would love to see a report.
I would think that Launch Bay would be driving attendance up, but who knows.

TDO should be embarrassed to operate a park with such few things to do.

I like HS overall...even gutted as it is. But I also understand many people's frustration with the park as it is now - when a single refurb feels like a bigger hit than it might a few years from now when more attractions will be offered. I do think we'd see some "quick fixes" if WDW mgmt felt more pressure from the media through bad press (traditional and social) . A few high profile stories on the declining value for the money/guest dissatisfaction would probably motivate them to do something - and/or if the studio attendance numbers took a dramatic dive - not just a decline - that would help too. There's been 1 article, but it was just the local Sentinel, I think.

I'm getting off track with the OP's topic, but honestly, there are quick fixes that would add a little more magic to the visit without construction permits or long dev schedules: live entertainers (like Disney Springs performers) throughout the park to elevate the spirit and atmosphere, a nighttime parade, maybe a special lighted display to compensate for losing last year's lights. Carriage rides, regular "eat to the beat" style big name concerts - things that aren't E tic attractions, but could go a long way towards enriching the studio experience during a tough transition time and make people feel they were still getting value for their spend while seeing all the exciting construction that promised good things to come.

I think 20-25 years ago, mgmt would have proactively done this out of concern for retaining the guest experience. But the only way current mgmt would do this is if they had to mitigate bad press, plunging attendance or both.

If it is, then they were very smart when they quickly put that together. I liked the old animation building, mostly because my daughter loved the drawing tutorial. We're Star Wars fans, especially my son, but we didn't spend long at Launch Bay. The fireworks, on the other hand, were completely worth it IMO. That kept us in the park for dinner.

I overheard a resort front desk CM telling a guest that DHS isn't even a half day park, and I appreciated her honesty with this guest who had a one day ticket. This kind of opinion getting out there beyond us fans is what will drive attendance down.
