Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Refurb in October?

How long will construction be going on. 2-3 years? What you're asking is unrealistic. Also, you're shifting your inconvenience to someone else. Good thing that is already in the past.
So...what's your deal this morning? I simply stated that it would have been nice to have had this refurb BEFORE they started tearing things down/shutting things down for good. Simple statement. An opinion if you will...and besides...how often do they shut down THIS particular attraction for refurb? Maybe every two to three years? And I'll go a step further...it's not my inconvenience. I don't give two hoots about this refurb or the fact that it's happening. I simply stated some wishful thinking. They can shut the park down. I don't care. It's no skin off my nose.

In fact, think you've made my post a bigger inconvenience than this refurb. As if the forum needed more literary speedbumps...

This I understand and sympathize with.

As to the theme of the thread though.... So basically people want refurbs, just not during their own vacation?
It stinks, Pirates was closed last year during ours and it is one of my favorites, and I would have loved for my son to experience it during his first visit. Here's how it played out- Pirate's is closed? Oh, that sucks. Then I moved on with my day, and the rest of the vacation. It was still wonderful.

Thanks 21stamps :) .. Have to agree with you, we rearranged our plans within 5 mins and now aim to do Toy Story Mania twice instead so very excited as its my favourite attraction. We have tower of terror fast pass which is a bonus. These things happen.

Whether we're talking about Walt Disney Productions in the past where customer service, maintaining exquisite show quality and delivering value to the guest were paramount, or the $DIS of today where everything is about short term stock prices and executive ego, Safety should always come first. If necessary, you close it even if it's Christmas week and other stuff is closed too.

But a park should have enough to do, at that price, so the vast majority can find enough to do even if they don't like everything the park has to offer, and is still true if attractions are down for maintenance.

I'm taking your statement to its logical conclusion. Just switch out ST, ToT, etc. for RnRC. If you move RnRC, you have to move all. Then all rides are shut down. It's very gracious of you to think about yourself in order to shift the inconvenience to someone else.

Are you half-illiterate? You're entirely missing my point. And, I'm done. You can kindly just save it.

If you feel there's not enough to do in DHS, park hop to one of the other four parks. If you bought a single day ticket at full price, that's your own fault.
...and then there's people like me. Who are hoping that EMM at HS gets extended. I don't think there is enough time for us during regular park hours.lol

You really don't want that park shut down... you want it open even with the limited attractions... else you'll see the wait times in every other park affected significantly.
Eh...I don't want 'er shut down. I'm trying to drive a point through a thick skull...I'm saying they could shut it down for all I care...I really don't mind the refurb in the very least. I made the (apparent) mistake of offhandedly mumbling something on here about how it would have been nice for them to do this (or really any) refurbs at this park before tearing said park apart. It was just some wishful thinking. It's really nothing.

And some folks...well...they miss the subtlety bus.

Since this attraction has been long rumored to be up for a lay over, why not do the 6 month layover now? The park is down to 5 attractions when this is down anyway, might as well just have it shut down for 6 months, remove Aerosmith, and lay it over with whatever IP they have in mind. Big Hero 6 would be a perfect match for this ride, and would be something new while the current construction on TSL and SWL is happening. WDW obviously doesn't mind charging $90+ for a park that is clearly no more then a half day park, so might as well use this as a time to start revamping some of the existing rides to attract people to still want to spend money at DHS.

I'm pretty sure this refurb is just to digitally add some more fingers to Steven Tyler's hand in the pre-show...
Yes. He will now become the 6 fingered man and the ride will be re-themed to Princess Bride. It will be a high speed race against Humperdinck to save Princess Buttercup from the vile clutches of the Fire Swamp and the Rodents of Unusual Size.

And you're pretty sure that the vast majority do not find enough to do? If that is based strictly on the fact that you don't feel that there is enough to do and then, by, some incredible ability to know what everyone else is thinking, have projected that onto that vast majority that you are talking about, there is a possibility that might be erroneous.

There also is the other thing that not every park has to be liked. If it doesn't fit ones needs then we make a decision that we don't like the park and go to a different one. Everything we do is evaluated on how we like or don't like something, that doesn't make it wrong or necessarily flawed. All that makes it is something that we don't like. Free choice!

OK are we now seriously defending the fact that they have let this park devolve into the lowest ride count of any Disney Park worldwide by saying there are other things to do? Seriously...and half the non ride attractions have been shut down too... Some people can fill a day at a city park sitting on a bench, but when I am paying $100/day for a theme park experience, I would like to go on some rides too.
But I am sure TDO loves to hear people defend their half-shuttered park for full price strategy...

You know what's funny?
ehh...this park has always been low on rides since day 1...today the main difference is you don't have the long, original backlot tour to take up half the day. Yes, it sucks right now as things are under construction, but we shouldn't pretend this park was ever packed full of rides.

True...it never was, but now that even more has closed, the lack of rides seems more acute to me...and amazing there is a rumor of the removal of the great movie ride before any of the new construction is complete...which will bring it down to 4 rides...then if there are any technical dificulties on any rides during that time it could be three rides... that is just nuts...

it will be interesting to see how it plays out. To me personally, it would make sense not to take GMR down until TSL has opened. But, I am in no way in the know at Disney, lol.

And your wishful thinking is just that. Wishful. Not realistic. And I pointed out why.

And if you're paying $100.00 per day to go there, you should be ashamed of yourself. That would make you one of those suckers that are born every minute. Words and music by P.T. Barnum!
