Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to be Re-Themed?

I feel like Cars is such an easy overlay...is this our chance at Cars Land Orlando!? Plenty of space in back-stage offices/parking area on West Showbiz Blvd.
IDK i feel like there was that strong rumor way back that Hollywood studios phase 3 was monsters inc. I think cars is played out and having two parks in america with it would be very boring and lazy in my opinion. The biggest what if is that Pete Doctor is in charge now at Pixar and unlike the previous guy he doesnt seem to be pushing certain movies or IPs over others.

Here is an idea how about a Indiana Jones land there.

Does Monsters Inc. really have a following? Maybe if Monsters At Work is a big hit.

I love Indy, but that's such old IP (unless they make a Chris Pratt version finally)...

As nice as expansion and re-theme of RnRC would be, I wonder if they will shelve a future expansion in hopes the Marvel issue gets figured out. That would allow them to focus on a lot of other things in the park that need help. Star Wars, TSL, the still good portions of DHS, Fantasmic!, and the nighttime spectaculars are enough to draw in crowds in the meantime.

This would also allow them to dedicate significant capital to the Epcot projects. It will probably be the park in the worse shape once Star Wars opens.

That's the big question surrounding further Cars IP expansion. While not directly-acknowledging it, I'm sure TWDC would like it if the world thought no more of the John Lasseter WDAS administration, so support for his signature franchise may not be as robust as it once was.

Well if Avatar has showed us anything, it proves that what makes a land great is not an IP but the ride attached to it. Build an awesome monsters inc door coaster. Everyone will lose their minds. And the same goes for Indy.

I think Cars is fresher and more popular among today's youth than Monsters is. Cars has had a film more recently and you still see Lightning McQueen toys and shirts in Target.

I'm 100% in favor of using movies as inspiration for attractions as long as those movies have effective world building. Avatar does exactly that.

I doubt we'll hear about this at D23 this year since it seems like this is all still pretty blue sky, but I wonder what ip (since inevitably that's what the land will be in current Disney) they'll use. Two ideas here, maybe they could go with a general hero theme. That way they could use whatever Marvel they're allowed to as well as Incredibles. Or they could really go all in on pixar and really make a long pixar area from TSL through the demolished area of animation courtyard. Other than that if you eliminate Cars, Monsters, Marvel, other Pixar properties the only other ip I could think of is Indy but that belongs on the other side of the park.

I think because for the biggest movie of all time, it left no pop culture footprint. So I think most people have no clue how it ended up number one because of how average a film it really was.

The 3D landed it at number 1. The Dances with Wolves in space story did not....

The IMAX 3D of this movie was mindboggling. 3D was the rage at the time and this movie blew past the prior 3D benchmarks by a mile.

3D tickets cost alot more than 2D, and IMAX showings are nearly double of a regular ticket, so I think that had major impact on making it the top grossing movie.

Yes. I would not expect similar performance from Avatar 2 through Avatar 17.

No thanks. The theming is original and timeless. You don't need to be an Aerosmith fan to appreciate it.

We don't need more bland rides based on IPs.

Agree with that. They could update it with a new film maybe. Something that's a little more current. It's a perfectly cohesive theme all the way through and something different. Love the music too. Timeless!
