Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to be Re-Themed?

I still wonder if the Goofy and Max to the Powerline concert concept is being considered.

I thought Cars for sure but apparently not. (They could also easily copy Incredicoaster). I'm not really advocating these two franchises, but they seem like they would of been considerations, but I guess not ...

Curious what they're ultimately going to do with RnRc ...

I can't see Monsters Inc. but who knows? That idea never seems to die so where there's smoke there's ultimately fire ...

Depends if they can make it circa 1930s like RnRCs backstory is.

Assuming it stays on Sunset.
So, maybe expansion here, RnRC re-theme, and new entrance.

I think it may mean either sunset is being renamed or the future entrance of the attraction is via a new undeveloped plot of land potentially behind sunset.
Ahhhhhh....

Thanks! I always hated it being attached to Sunset as it does not fit in with the overall greatness that the street is. Definitely needs more attractions and a connecting loop though.

I'd hope they keep the Sunset entrance though, it makes no sense to open the area to flow into Animation and TSL yet dead-end at TOT, though I guess a "dead end" at TOT makes sense ;) LOL

Curious to know what the ideas are for re-theming. None of us have seemed to guess anywhere close.

I still say CARS makes the most sense (yet that apparently was never a consideration, or maybe just the land itself wasn't in that Sunset expansion area) but I guess they consider McQueen's Racing Academy enough. And there seems to be a lack of desire to duplicate Cars Land (the rockwork would easily cover the showbuilding of the coaster, but yet, never considered?)

Though I also guess some franchises may not be considered for that kind of coaster due to it's thrill factor ... but IDK, why not? I'd accept a CARS overlay (you keep McQueen's Screenz Academy and that could fill the void for youngsters too small to ride; not everything needs to be made for 5 year olds -- some of my best memories are of reaching the height requirement for certain rides you can't do when you're too small). I think they could probably do better but it seems so easy of an idea. Again, curious what the IPs being considered are.

You could always rebuild the coaster to be less thrilling if the goal was to build a cars coaster.

The most minimum work would be to retheme it as a celebrity Limo to a Hollywood premier. This could be tied into a current or vintage IP. Current would be modern day with the premier film being changed every few months (dumbo, alladin, etc.). Vintage would be a better fit to Sunset Boulevard... you could choose a specific classic, or a generic Hollywood premiere.

True. It doesn't necessarily have to tie into "music" so to speak ...

Do any of you think that would actually be a fun ride that would get people into the park? Walk in and see Tim Burton's Dumbo sitting there you gotta get to the premiere fast so you get into a limo and drive as fast as you can to the movie's score? hahaha seriously sounds terrible, I'm sorry. 90% of the excitement is the music right now, if they can't keep it- they gotta go in a whole other direction.

I admittedly don't spend much time there and it will need to change anyway, but what is in that portion of Launch Bay across from Disney Junior that would have to be demoed? The gift shop and....?

Wouldn't they just demo the entire launch bay? It would work as a plussed up version of Walt Disney Presents ... but wouldn't want that. And they would benefit from opening up that area. How high is this on the priority list for them? Just wondering?

You could call it "Superstar Limo" . . . :p

so more old irrelevant bands? isnt that the entire argument agaisnt keeping it Aerosmith?

from a buisness stand point theres no reason to change it period....as long as that que fills up every day like it always has.

if disney had a hankering to change it up i agree with prior posters. swap trains out for new gen (upgrade audio at same time) than maybe an upgraded lightning package out on the track and call it a day OR go generic and do all of the above but drop aerosmith and do a mix of music and just change the pre show. but alas everyone is foaming at the mouth for marvel.

It’s still popular stuff and isn’t quite irrelevant...

Ummmmmm please tell me more about this cause I would literally die. I adore that movie and the music!

A while back there was a track on one of the limosuines for a proposed overlay be it temporary or permanent themed to Goofy and Max getting to a Powerline concert to what I presume was Eye to Eye.

This is really curious. I know a retheme has been on the table for a long time but I wonder what it would be tied to (Dr Strange? Something Marvel-esque?). My biggest hope, like others have said, would be the demo of launch bay and the improvement of guest flow. I want to be able to go from ToT to Toy Story without going down Sunset. I want to be able to go from Fantasmic to the front of the park via that back overflow entrance all of the time. I think improving guest flow (and yes adding more rides would go a long way to improving the DHS experience)...
