Rides or "Attractions" that used to scare you

Snow White's Scary Adventures- My goodness.. Old "Haggy" there used to be one of my greatest fears. I remember vividly closing my eyes and ears on that ride. It was a traumatic experience for me!

I couldn't agree with you more...this ride is truly disturbing. Also troubling: Peter Pan (dead pirate shoved under the sail of the ship) and the dangling clown that looks like he was hanged in Small World.

TOT is at the top of my list I think... I chickened out when I was 12, don't like elevators in the slightest, the ride did not sound like a good idea to me! My problem with elevators is mild claustrophobia...I'm OK in the space, but it's the thought of getting stuck in said space (ie. the elevator dies!)... in 09 I was brave enough to try it, but the friend I was with gets motion sick and wasn't willing to give it a go, so I've never done it!!

Dinosaur got me bad when I was 12, but for a similar reason as TOT.. the idea of getting stuck on a ride freaked me the heck out (I didn't understand that lights would come on...) and the ride did stop at one point near a dinosaur for a good 5 minutes (wheelchair loading? I'm not sure!) so we were just rocking back and forth with this dinosaur right there! I haven't been tempted to do that ride again....

Finally, the great movie ride got me when I was 10... I have a phobia of fire, don't ask me what the scene was, but there was fire I wasn't expecting and it freaked me out bad enough that I never went back on that ride... maybe I will have to try it next time I manage to get down to the world....

Have you been on it these days? They tamed down the ending a bit. It used to be REALLY scarier than it is now.
I have been in Dinosaur plenty of times. What I meant was that if I could handle Countdown to Extinction now that I'm older. Yeah I well remember the ending!

I used to be deathly afraid of clowns and now that I think about it, I used to be scared of that clown as well. I also used to be scared of the La Nouba commercial and the billboard at Downtown Disney.

Anything with abog drop. Gonna try out EE for the first time next month, but will go nowhere near Rock N Rollercoaster, no flips or corkscrews for me
EE isn't that bad, unless you're afraid of going backwards (which really is the worst part of the ride because it's in complete darkness), but the big drop really isn't all that bad. It curves at the end so it isn't as extreme as let's say Splash Mountain. It's lots of fun even if Disco Yeti still plagues the ride.

Like a lot of people, I was afraid of parts of the Great Movie Ride, but no so much the Nostromo sequence as the 1930s part where you're in the alleys of the city.
Guess it goes to show how much of a sheltered suburban kid I was.

I kind of miss the feeling of minor dread I would get before riding the scarier dark rides like Dinosaur or Tower of Terror.
The only time I feel it now is before riding something new for the first time and not knowing when something might pop out.
Revenge of the Mummy then kind of made me feel like a kid again.

The cannons @ POTC
The wolf howling @ HM
SWSA and MTWR
Jungle Cruise used to have a gun shot ( CM would use it to kill one of the "animals" attacking the boat)
I guess dark rides got to me when I was little. This was before all of the other parks were built (1973).;)
My Dad dragged me on Space Mountain. I liked it actually!:)

Oh you meant if it were still exactly the same now. LOL I really miss the scarier ride to be honest. It was just so much more fun and thrilling.

I think I've always thought "It's Disney....how bad can it be?" but my DH had a full-on fear of ToT for YEARS. I couldn't convice him to try it for anything. About 9 years ago my 5 year old niece made a deal with him that she would try it if he did and now it's his favorite ride.

Your niece is braver than me! I am a chicken when it comes to free-fall drops, especially in an elevator for Pete's sake!

My husband would tell you (and he is deathly afraid of height and drops) that there is no possible way for any of us to adequately describe the ToT to anyone to prepare them for the wonderful effects and, yes, thrills they will get from ToT. As hard as I tried to explain what he would feel, he couldn't comprehend that you could be dropped again and again and actually enjoy it. It's what I like to call a "controlled fear." All I can say to anyone who hasn't tried it out of fear is to try it and THEN decide whether to ride it again or call it a one and done. My husband is sure happy he finally tried it. ;)

When we 1st went to WDW in 1976 and a few years after that, I wouldn't ride Space Mt. Now I love it and it is a must. I would have to say that it wasn't until the last couple of years I never opened my eyes on Splash Mt. on the big drop. My husband read it was a great view of the park if you looked straight out. Now I still get nervous but look straight out and have even taken pictures. Same with TOT 2 years ago I kept my eyes open through the whole ride and love it. I still don't like Astro Orbitor. I went on it maybe the Christmas of 2011 after not being on it over a decade. Never again. I don't have the strength in my arms to get myself out. I thought I was going to have a very embarrassing moment and have to have someone help me out. HA! HA!
