Yeah, I've heard his name; Lasseter (as always) comes up, and even Jerry Bruckheimer's name was tossed out there by some.

I wonder if any of the three would be interested in that job...To me it would seem to be a step down for lasseter, wouldn't you think?

I agree with most of y'all. Disney has had some great movies: Tron, Prince of Persia, etc.......you just never heard about them!

Because the scene is set directly after the battle.

I actually wondered about the timing of that scene. I recall Tony saying they should take tomorrow off and got to the shawarma joint. So I assumed they were eating the next day. But then, it makes no sense to put on their uniforms again.

Why wouldn't he be? I'm sure he had some free time between saving the world and...ummm...other errands.

Not sure if you have seen the movie yet but

SPOILERS

In the movie it's explained that Odin uses whatever power he had left to send Thor back to Earth to retrieve Loki. At the end of the movie Thor collects both Loki and a makeshift device powered by the Cosmic Cube (which we know from Captain America belonged to Odin anyway) and uses its power for a one way ticket back to Asguard. I think they did this to maintain the status quo established at the end of Thor 1 so that Thor 2 opens with him trapped in his dimension unable to travel freely back to Earth or any other planet or dimension.

/End Spoilers

How do you do Spoiler tags on here anyway?

With Walt Disney Pictures reporting another $29 million estimated gross for Marvel's The Avengers for Friday, the movie has grossed $299 million to date domestically and is looking to cross the $300 million mark sometime today.

It's also looking to destroy the current second weekend record for a movie, currently held by James Cameron's Avatar with $75.6 million as well as The Dark Knight's second weekend take of $75.2 million as projections have it bringing in as much as $100 million in its second weekend, down roughly 51% from its record opening.

Worldwide, the movie has grossed $854 million through yesterday, which should put it among the Top 20 all-time global blockbusters by weekend's end, placing it in the realm of Jurassic Park and some of the "Harry Potter" movies after a little over two weeks.

Check back later this weekend for updated numbers for what's turning out to not only be the biggest hit of 2012 but also one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

Just as I predicted in another thread. People are making this a weekend family event film likely due to hearing positive reviews from friends. Plus I think there is also some carry over from people who just couldn't get into a screening last weekend.

The numbers are amazing, it must be a great movie. I will definitely see this one at the theater.

I've been 5 times now. My son has gone with me for three of them and the rest of my family for one. And I'm likely to go back again. :D

I purposely put this in this existing thread and not make a whole new one just to avoid the whining of some that would complain about another Avenger thread!

Yes! I saw it for the third time last night. :king:
