Review of The Hulk

What was wrong with Spiderman? I thought it was a great setup movie, just like the first X-Men. They have to introduce everything in the first one so in the next one they can do whatever they want. I hope the next Spiderman is as big an improvement as the 2nd X-Men.

I still think Hulk was a decent setup movie. Not as good as Spiderman or X-Men, but certainly not a waste of time (like the last Star Trek movie was. I'm still angry about that one).

The original X-Men film sucked. Sure, I like character development but there was very little action sequences. X2: X-Men United was very good but probably not the best since it was more of a transition film. X3 will be the best when it opens in 2006.

The Hulk sucked. They could have summed up the entire story in less then the 2 hours and 15 minutes they used. Too much flash backing and too many unanswered questions.

I guess you probably think Reloaded is the greatest movie ever, huh?

For what it was and with the budget it had, X-Men was an AWESOME movie. It was incredibly acurate, and they could've done MUCH worse. And, as Singer says himself, the first one was pretty much a trailer of the second one.

The Hulk opens down here this Friday. I never expected it to be as good as Spidey or X-Men, but as the likes of Blade or Daredevil. In fact, I still think I'll like it more than Daredevil... But we'll see... ;)

And what was wrong with reloaded? No I don`t think it was the greatest movie ever made, but I think it was the best that has come out this year.

Darrel, Moose said he didn't like the original X-Men because of the lack of action sequences, and you really can't get more action than Reloaded.

There's nothing wrong with it, but: 1) it ain't no Matrix, and now I know I'll enjoy Revolutions a lot more because I won't go with my expectations so high; and 2) in my opinion, X2 still is the best movie this year. I may get crucified by this, but there were many more movies this yeas that were more fun to watch than Reloaded, movies that balanced action, comedy and story a lot better. :)

X2 would have to be my fave too :)

After watching Master of Disguise last night, I think the Hulk has to be much better than a star and a half. This stink o rama Carvey film has to lower the bar on movies to new levels.

I still haven't had the pleasure... But we can't forget Dumb & Dumberer! Come on, if you're giving 1 1/2 to Hulk, this one has to be negative, right?

Hmmm...Dumb and Dumberer...now...I think this movie lives up to it's name! And who cares if you feel dumberer for sitting through it... (Honestly...who goes to a movie named "Dumb and Dumberer" and thinks it's NOT going to be "dumb")

Now Scary Movie 2 had some legitimate laughing areas to me. I do agree that the Dumb & Dumberer movie lost the smart stupidity that the first movie had. But Freak makes a great point, you cannot get upset if the movie is purely idioticer than the first.

Can you really vouch for Scary 2? I saw the first one, and although it was a good idea, I just think they went too far on some jokes... "The Naked Gun", "Airplane", and all Mel Brooks movies have done wonderful spoofs without going too far or getting too graphic. So I just figured Scary 2 would be even WORSE than the first and never bothered to check it out. But the curiosity always wants to kill the cat... And besides, Kevin Smith is writing Scary Movie 3, and that has got to come out good, right? :lookaroun

Well, let me make it very clear. There are moments... but then you have much of the ______ and drug jokes that do not have much of anything to do with scary movie spoofs. Although the blend of raunchy and spoofs is more logical in Scary 2. I think 3 will be the best as well, more actors are signing on for it which is a good sign. Hey a comedy is a comedy. It took me a second watch to get over the the Intro to Austin Powers 2, that really bugged me through most of the movie the first time around.

That's kinda what I mean, Austin Powers has some se xual humor to it, but I don't think it's ever as graphical as the Scary Movie series...

Austin Powers has se xual innuendos because it's a spoof of James Bond movies...which are also loaded with se xual innuendos. (Alotta Fagina is in AP...__________ Galore is in JB)

Right, and nothing wrong about it, I LOVE the Austin Powers series... It's the Scary Movie series type of humor that I find unecessary. I really like the Wayans, especially Damon, and Scary Movie has its moments, but as a whole... At least there's hope for the 3rd one, David Zucker will direct it.

Anyway, how's about that Hulk? :lookaroun (Friday, hopefully...)

Heheh, I was reiterating what you were saying :)

Scary Movie spoofs s ex scenes because almost all scary movies have se x scenes (which usually lead to those people dying).

(I agree with you though...they are a little "over the top" like they tried too hard to make it funny)

No but I think the film is definitely the number one movie of the year for me so far.

The Hulk opens down here this Friday. I never expected it to be as good as Spidey or X-Men, but as the likes of Blade or Daredevil. In fact, I still think I'll like it more than Daredevil... But we'll see...

Daredevil was way better then X-Men. I gave Daredevil ****1/2 out of 5. The film was much more realistic then Spider-Man. Would have been better if the film had gotten the R-rating it was suppose to have but the PG-13 rating worked out alright.

For what it was and with the budget it had, X-Men was an AWESOME movie. It was incredibly acurate, and they could've done MUCH worse. And, as Singer says himself, the first one was pretty much a trailer of the second one.

The budget was good for its time. Close to $100 million. They could have done worse but I still thought it was boring. Nothing but character development and like X2, too many characters at times.

There's nothing wrong with it, but: 1) it ain't no Matrix, and now I know I'll enjoy Revolutions a lot more because I won't go with my expectations so high; and 2) in my opinion, X2 still is the best movie this year. X2 was good but not as balanced or exciting as The Matrix Reloaded was. The movie is ten times better after you see it a second time. Remember that it is only half a film. The conclusion comes with The Matrix Revolutions.

I still haven't had the pleasure... But we can't forget Dumb & Dumberer! Come on, if you're giving 1 1/2 to Hulk, this one has to be negative, right?

Haven't seen the film and not even going to attempt to see it.

Haven't seen it and don't plan to any time soon.

That settles it for me, if you can't watch the bad with the good, then I could care less what ratings you give any movie, cause you are not getting an accurate range to judge in the first place.

A true movie fanatic or critic must be non-bias in the movies they watch and/or judge.

Amen to that. And just to give an example:

Daredevil ain't better than X-Men just because YOU gave it 4 1/2 stars. X-Men was a lot more fun than Daredevil, and Spider-Man is probably the most accurate comic-to-movie adaptation to date. You'd see that if, as Spidey said, you'd be non-biased and studied your sources.

But this is just my two cents... That's why I usually don't read reviews before going to a new movie... Unless of course I've doubts about it, like Finding Nemo, for instance. From what I've read so far, it seems I'll like it, something I didn't think was going to happen just by the trailers.
