This could be like a presidential candidate. "No, I'm not runnning"... "No, I'm not running"... "I would hereby like to announce my nomination for President of the United States." Could be like that... possibly...

Things that will not happen....

1. Epcot 25th Anniversary Celebration
2. 5th Gate in the next 10 years.
3. Harry Potter attraction
4. Monorail expansion

Print it....end of story....that's all folks...you can go home now.

I don't know...

1. No idea about it, but why would it just go unnoticed? Disney is notorius for celebrating not on cue (Disney's 100th), so who knows maybe at the end of this year after million dreams?
2. Maybe not a 5th gate but with this Western Beltway expansion I think we will be surprised by what is added, more than just hotel rooms that's for sure. I think we will see another, bigger, better Downtown Disney-esque over there...Disney Old West?
3. Harry Potter is going in Universal.
4. I agree, not unless they find a cheaper way of making and running them. Each train, I hear, costs $4M to build, I also hear that they have an order for 4 more trains, but that could be rumor.

maybe they are getting replacemnt trains since they have treated the mark VI like crap almost from the beginning. what ever happened to the trains being cleaned inside & out each night?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, how many of us noticed nasty stains & or smells in the monorails? ugh they transport millions each year, they need to be cleaned like they do to.:fork:

i dig the old stuff....

this is probably just a passing fancy though. there are alot of things fashion wise right now that are looking toward the past for inspiration. target has said that there tshirst depicting old rock bands like the rolling stones, bon jovi, whitesnake and the like are some of the best sellers and if you look on runways the same can be said. i know this seems like it has nothing to do with disney, but in a round about way it does. Nostalgia is in. but it will probably pass just like bell bottoms did-again. and woodstock did-again and again.

just one of those circle of like things.

No joke. Those old things are about to die. They're in much worse shape than most people think.

My guess is that they are already working on the next campaign to replace YoaMD when it ends next year. I think we forget to realise how long it takes to plan a campaign, and whilst one has only just started, the next one starts life on the drawing board.

Most new products take an average of 9 months from first pen to paper, to getting it on shelves, so you can imagine how long a new campaign must need.

It's not the case that YoaMD is not working and they need to replace it. All letter heads, new logos, designs, trims, not to mention the web and vacation planner have all been given the YoaMD look. They can't withdraw all that.

With Iger's nostalgia statement and the new EPCOT Center shirts, I wonder if an announcement of an official Epcot 25th celebration is imminent.

Yeah, but usually that look is usually instantaneous, and this has taken almost six months to get everything switched over. They only began planning for the YoaMD about two or three months before it was supposed to begin.

And as for Monorail expansion, I wouldn't count that out so readily. There are always rumors floating around the department that there are pylons built sitting in a warehouse up in Georgia, that there is a building out at DAK set aside for future use as a secondary Monorail Shop, that Disney will start outsourcing the bus drivers to Mears so that it is easier to downsize that department, etc. And we know for a fact that there is space set aside at each Park and Resort for a Monorail station, and that the contracts for the Vacation Club properties states that there is Monorail easement running through those Resorts.
