Retro Epcot Symbols

I think that would've been the symbol for World Showcase itself... the similar icon at the end of the second row was for the World Key Information Center.

Here is a scan from an Pre opening EPCOT Center booklet, using that symbol:

Huh! Interesting.

I guess WS had two? The one with the "Person" as seen in the last spot, here..

It was also seen during C25 in the EPCOT 25th Gallery.

Three, if you count the one above...And that one was on most Merch.

I don't want to be too much of a noob here, but I am. Some of the symbols are obvious but some are not. Could someone, smarter than I, layout which symbol is which on the silvery graphic?

Perhaps top row is 1-6 and bottom is 7-12?

Please. :veryconfu

There wasn`t a symbol for WorldKey as such - it used the Bell/AT&T Bell logo. The globe with a figure was only WS. The globe with no figure was never used in the park.

I had to chip in!

^ I'll confirm what Martin said. WorldKey was a silly little Bell emblem.

I do recall seeing the logo with the person, but not the plain world one.

I always wanted to know what the heck the Imagination symbol is supposed to be.

Very interesting question....While knowing the symbols, I've never read or heard discussion on the actual development of them or the reasoning behind it with the exception of the EPCOT symbol.

I've informally reasoned the symbols as follows (although never put these thoughts to paper)

Spaceship Earth - the World Showcase symbol AKA earth moving in orbit
CommuniCore - represents the physical buildings on each side
Universe of Energy - radiating energy or electron orbits
Wonders of Life - Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man
Horizons - a road or line moving to the horizon
World of Motion - air moving around an object (the dot) in motion
Journey into Imagination - either a blender mixing ideas(think looking down from above) or vacuum collection (as in Dreamfinder's Dream mobile or Dream catcher) s__________g up items for deposit into the Dreamport.
The Land - yea...a plant
The Living Seas - and a wave

For Journey, at first glance I see the aperture blades of a camera...as in corporate sponsor Kodak...

No idea if that's right or not, just what my photographer's eyes see...

There's that and the blending of thoughts or ideas, too. It's one that's never really been explained.

Kinda looks like a explosion to me.:lookaroun:lol:

I want to say it was part of the user interface of the World Key kiosks.
I recall seeing it on the square directional signs, the one between CCore East BW and Horizons I think.
