Requests not granted

I just wanted to know if anyone made any request at WDW and they weren't granted. I had a small and dumb on, but the lady I talked to was very cold. It was really disheartening. Anyway, long story short, I have been to WDW every year for the last 4 years and this December makes 5. Dropped plenty of money, gladly, and this year we decided to try for the annual passes. Got them and booked our rooms and nicely asked for a pair of the YOAMD luggage tags because my fiancee will be going for her first time and they would be great for our scrap book afterwards because they would be a good memento from the YOAMD. Every year, I love those things. She said "Sure, I'll send you out a couple of those." I said great, very nice lady. We got them and they were some old ones so I contacted customer service and politely inquired about the YOAMD ones. She said very coldly that I never should have gotten those and they won't send me any. I asked if I could even pay for some and explained the situation thoroughly. I'll even be giving my fiancee her ring at Disney. She basically acted like she could care less. Anyway, I'm aware that the luggage tags come with packages and such, but I was just hurt that they could send a pair of those 50 cent luggage tags to us. And also that she seemed so uncaring. Anyway, I still love Disney, but that sure did ruin my day. Its a year of a million dreams, but I guess my small request doesn't fit in that plan.

Anyone else ever had any requests that were turned down? Thanks guys.

I'm really sorry that you were disappointed. I hope she said "yes" anyway.

But was what you were asking really just a simple thing?

My guess is that those tags are not in the building where the phones are answered, and the person you talked to does not have access to them.

For her to accommodate your request may have been nearly impossible, no matter how obvious it might have seemed to you.

If you are going in December, you should get a couple in your package when it arrives with your reservations and info, right? Don't you get one for each person on the reservation?

They only come with the package, and since he has APs he didn't get the package.

That really sucks that the second person you talked to was so cold. I agree that it was a small request. I realize that it probably isn't as easy as the person just picking some up and mailing them to you, but there should be a way for her to make it happen. The first person tried, she should at least try to. Maybe if you call again and talk to someone else, although is see why you wouldn't want to.

You're right not to let it spoil the magic. I wish the people who answer the phones realized how much their attidudes affect the magic.

There was no reason for the woman to be rude, and that's upsetting. Maybe you'll get lucky, and your call was one of the ones that was recorded for "quality assurance purposes."

However, I imagine that the woman you spoke to didn't have access to any luggage tags to send you. I would guess (though I really have no idea) that that sort of thing is handled by a separate office.

To be honest...

If you know you weren't supposed to get them to begin with, and the first lady was nice enough to get you some (even though she knew you weren't supposed too), why in the world would you complain you got the wrong ones. You should be content with what you received.

And for all you know you could have gotten her in trouble when you called back to ask for them again, because she wasn't supposed to give them to you.

Well that's unfortunate that you dealt with someone so unpleasant... but like others have said... more than likely there's not much she could have done for you... but she definitely could have said it in a nicer way.

As for me... I made a request to have adjoining rooms at All Star Sports. I made the request when it was booked... and I made the request again when we checked in... they said there was nothing they could do and they couldn't even get us on the same floor... luckily they did end up at least getting us in the same building... but on complete opposite sides and different floors. Oh well... not all requests can be accomodated...

Requests are exactly that, requests. Rhey do not guarantee where your room will be, or if they will be adjoining or connecting. Connecting rooms go to large families with children in the 2nd room alone. As to luggage tags, the res agents do not have access to them, they are for people booked through Walt Disney Travel Company. However, a quick phone call to guest services probably would have gotten you some tags. Problem is the res people work on an incentive program, which means unless they are booking a reservation you a technically taking money out of their pockets when calling for something other than a reservation. They have to meet a "quota" or they don't get paid.
They also can get fired if they don't make "quota" 3 times, so they are under a lot of pressure that people do not realize. She should however, not been unpleasant to you.

I will answer you... yes.

8 nights on Honeymoon, with the former "gold package" (yes they knew it was ou honeymoon) at CBR, request for King bed in room, not granted. Told "sorry".
The rest of the trip was great...still that was kind of unbelievable.

Whenever, including our visit in 17 days we have booked by ourselves or thru another method, ( thankyou Marie :D ) we have always gotton the tags when they were part of the package. I can't really say how many we have from past trips. And we never used them. Something about certain people who work at the airports that lets them know where your going or where you've been and temps them to look thru your bag. :lookaroun

Sounds like perhaps you should have just posted a request here rather than expect DIsney to give you something that you were not even entitled to.
Lesson learned?

You were given bad reservation advice, or if you booked yourself you didn't do your homework.

At CBR, a king-size bed room is a separate category that your must RESERVE and pay extra for (same for preferred location and for water view). Merely making a request for a king-size bed room at CBR is pretty meaningless ... only 62 of CBR's 2,112 rooms have a king-size bed. Naturally, all of those 62 are usually snapped up by actual reservations (for which people pay between $15-$26 extra per night), leaving almost no possibility that someone who merely requests a king-size bed room will ever get one.

I'm sorry you got bad advice or didn't do enough research, but you made a request that was doomed to be "un-grantable."

I was surprised that there were ANY King rooms at CBR; I thought (mistakenly, I see) that they were only available, in limited quantities, at the Deluxe resorts.

We got a King bed at the Yacht Club last trip...because all of the queen rooms were taken when I checked in. We had our son with us, but they nicely provided a c o t , and a little 'extra" for our inconvenience.

I actually like it better, but doubt that I'll be able to get one again, as there aren't very many available.

The only time they couldn't accommodate my request was a few years back when I requested a non-smoking room, but I arrived very late and only smoking rooms were left.

I managed one night, but they switched me from Coronado to the Boardwalk for the rest of my trip.

The Walt Disney Travel Company Luggage Tags are only included with Vacation Packages and are not available for sale or distribution with a Room-Only Reservation. The tags are sent out with the Guest's final travel documents and are sent from the WDTC Documents department. The DRC Reservations Cast has no personal access to these tags and has no means to request them for a Guest through official sources.

The first Cast Member you spoke with may simply have known a Cast Member in the WDTC Documents department and was able to get left over tags from the previous year to send them to you as a special courtesy. Current year tags are accounted for and cannot be given out without documentation of an existing WDTC Vacation Package, so that is why you received last years tags.

You can get a king bed in the moderates, but it is a seperate catagory that you have to book. :)
