Reputation Points Question

Actually I think not only should it force you to leave a comment (I mean really, what do comments take like 1 second to type?) it should also give the name of the user who left the negative points. As it stands right now if I was having a bad day I could give everyone on the forum negative points and no one would even know why it was done or who was doing the doning...

If I leave you negative points (which up till now I haven't done yet), trust me I'll have a good reason and I'll put my (user)name next to it.

I think there is one person that knows who is doing the negative rep points ;)

You're the only female I know that begs for little red dots!

I'm just saying...Be careful...don't go around "anonymously" giving people bad rep points...because "big brother" may be watching ;)

and on that note...I say... "Wassat now? Sheesh already, ok then...and I'm spent!"

What have I started here. Sorry, I was just trying to learn about it as I did not know how it worked or even existed before.

You don't want names b/c that establishes enemies, so I see whey they are anonymous, but there should definitely be a mandatory reasoning behind all negatives.

How about we all give each other positive points in this thread to make up for those who have wronged us lol

I don't get it I guess. I had replied to a post about you know you're obsessed with Disney when...

Somone in the tread said you listen to Disney music even when your kids are not in the car.

My reply was this:

"Yeah, I agree with you there.

I listen to ESPN radio all the time but whenever there is a commercial break I listen to a Yo Ho and Grim Grinning Ghosts until the break is over."

Someone gave me what I think is a negative, it just showed up in my CP with a gray square no comment and my points number stayed at 18. Is that a negative?

If so either whoever it was did not like that I listen to ESPN or that I had a brain cramp and said Yo Ho rather than A Pirate's Life for Me.

No, it's not a negative. It's neutral. I have one of those too. I think that's what happens when somebody with no points adds to your reputation.

Ah, that makes a little more sense. So they really could have dinged me or gave me good points. So if nobody can give you points when they have none, who started it all...god? :)

In the beginning, during the first week, maybe, it was a little different- then the system changed a bit.

I'm not 100% sure on the neutral thing but I saw it explained that way in another thread.

The chicken...er no the egg....ummm the chicken. :hammer:

Confusing isn't it? I have less trouble getting 7th grade students to understand molecular genetics. So much for my reputation.

Yes, Steve reached forward his omnipotent hands and placed them on the home row and proclaimed mightily, "Let there be red and green dots, and let those dots be a reflection of whether the users post properly, and let their postings be influenced in a righteous way so that all may enjoy the goodness of the wdwmagic forums."

And so it was, and so it always shall be. Verily I say unto you, mighty is the positive effect of the small and simple green reputation dot.
