First off I'd like to thank those of you who followed along on my twitter. I tried to tweet when I could but it was hard with all the running around I did in the short amount of time I had to spend at WDW. Let me go day by day. I went with my family for our annual trip to WDW although this trip was shorter. My family (me my sister, mom and dad) are pretty much done with WDW (besides me). They still went to the parks but it was mostly me going.
Thursday- MK Extra magic hours got me in at 8am. Had a wonderful time waiting no more than 40minutes for any attraction. Got myself a dole whip and ice cream cookie sandwich to top off my experience there. That night we ate at Portobellos in DTD. It was a good meal and it earns my recommendation since it was our first night dining there.
Friday- the main reason we went to WDW this year was to head over to see Universal. Me and my mom are huge Harry Potter fans. Let me say this. The section of the park is absolutely incredible. As for the ride that I've heard being called "the greatest ride you will ever go on" "an experience like no other", I was greatly greatly greatly underwhelmed. It was not fun. It was not a good ride by any stretch of the imagination. The film looked old and the ***SPOILERS*** spiders and dementors looked like they could have been used on a carnival ride. Seriously. They spent a TON of money making this section of the park look absolutely fabulous but failed to bring the attraction to life. The queue for the ride is UNREAL if you're a harry potter fan though. Frozen butterbeer=my new favorite frozen drink. That night after we left Universal we ate at Charley's steakhouse. My favorite dining experience. If you can go there, go there. It's very pricey though. Wizarding World gets a 9/10 for me because of the terrible mainstream attraction IMO.
Saturday- My only complaint of the trip. At around 4pm in DHS I had my first bad experience at WDW in my recent memory. (I'm only 19 so I don't really remember my bad experiences as a kid) I got 4 fast passes for me and my family to ride RnRc at 4. Something bugged with the fastpasses and they printed wrong dates and everything (I didn't know this at the time, it wasn't until later that I found out). Even the barcode scans were wrong. There was a girl there collecting fastpasses and I was by myself at the time. I'm 19 years old and I guess she saw me as a kid trying to pull a fast one. She tells me my fastpasses are fake. I was incredibly confused. She shows me a "real" fastpass. I explain to her I've had many hundreds of fastpasses before and I don't know why these look like this but I told her she can check the activity of the cards and see I got them perfectly fine. I said "maybe the machine bugged or there was an error" She responds "You're wrong, they don't error." That statement made me absolutely furious. I went with 2 friends down to WDW last year and never once were we treated like kids. We were treated like adults and equals. I hate being talked down to because you're a few years older than I am. This girl must have been in her 20s. She tells me I'm wrong? At Disney world? An employee telling a customer their wrong? Are you kidding me? I was furious beyond belief. I kept my composure though. But in my head I was thinking "If Walt could see this girl treating guests like this.." That's how I see WDW. A place where no matter your age 1-100 you should all be treated with respect. I was being disrespected. She was giving me attitude. She checked with another co worker and the co worker tells her that "the fastpass system bugged in the morning and these tickets are fine". She says nothing to me. Waves me through. Excuse me?? Nothing?? No apologies? You told me I was wrong? You were extremely rude to me and you don't even apologize to me? IN DISNEY WORLD!? I was so angry I didn't even enjoy the ride. I brought the other 3 tickets (my family had left at the point, it was to hot for them..the heat index was near 105.) to Guest Relations. I tell them my story and they give me 3 re entry passes. As I look at the smilies there is no face for me to choose for my reaction. I was floored. I respond saying I don't care about the ride seeing as I've ridden it hundreds of times. I care that the employee was rude. She says she will handle it and sends me on my way.. I will be writing a letter for both cases. This might seem outlandish but WDW isn't cheap and my family has been loyal to them for many many years. I was angry to say the least.
Those were the big things that happened on my trip down to WDW. It's still the greatest trip but that CM did ruin my Saturday. I couldn't have been more angry. As for clarification, I don't want anything in return for my ruined experience at RnRc. My sister thinks that. I don't honestly. I just want them to know what happened. You shouldn't be treated like that at the Happiest place in the world. I'd still rate the trip as perfect, I mean...you're in WDW..how can you not?
