Replacement for Tomorrowland Speedway?

I want a longer Light Cycle ride too. But what would be even better to me would be for them to make it a Tron mini land and also build a FOP or even Star Tours style Tron Light Jet themed ride. That would be a more family friendly ride and have that simulated flight experience everyone craves just with the Tron vibe. They could even make it next gen and add a combat dimension to it. Holy cow that would be exciting!

I guess my issue is that it breaks the idea that you're in the grid. From what I've watched on Youtube though, it looks pretty.

I think the fairest comparison is Rock n Roller Coaster.
Most launching coasters are quite quick. California Screamin is unique.

I actually agree with this. A bona fide thrill ride will be quite welcome.
At Disney's pace, my kids should reach the 48" height requirement around the time this opens!

Except for this site, I think every article that I've read has said that Speedway is getting replaced, not refurbed. They're all quoting the site that can't be named, unfortunately.

The DIS is taking the nice middle ground and citing both "that site" and WDWMagic... hopefully the news of an announcement at D23 is true and would/should put an end to any of the contradicting info out there...

That is incorrect, Animal Kingdom's theme is about Animals of the past, present, and those of the imagination. The park's main message however is conservation, it has been since day one, and Mystic Manor does not fit that theme, stop trying.The park you are looking for with an adventure/exploration theme is Islands of Adventure.
Would it not fit in the MK around the JC area ?

Will the exterior of Space Mountain be changed and/or affected in any way by this, or completely separate?
I had a nightmare vision of the coaster somehow wrapping around or being integrated into that iconic
structure . . . ack.

Is there any chance they are taking down Space Mountain for this? I know it needs a big refurb/rebuild.
