Will there be "vast changes to TL theming, decor and lighting to go along with this or? I feel like it would make TL look even older and outdated than it is currently.

Dollywood has a speedway attraction that has electric cars (made by Morgan). They have onboard audio as well. I could see this as a replacement to the speedway. There is also no gas pedal per say so no worry about cars bumping into each other and helps with capacity.

If Tron is going where it is going, there is noway the Speedway will stay in its current form, if that is the route they go. Tron is super futuristic looking and the Speedway is the oldest, out of date looking attraction at WDW. It's gotta go... trust me, we will all breath better! Now if they find a way to put a new type of speedway, all tron'd out that are electric, quiet, with amazing led lighting on the cars and route, then we might have ourselves a game changer.
Was just thinking of this style update for the speedway. Kind of like "light cars"

I'll throw in my Herbie the Love Bug theme for good measure.
But would the general public rather have something based on this.....

I'm pretty sure a candy car would win.

Wall-E? That's something that really doesn't have any profile at the parks. Good thinking. Also it could be the 'W' in any of @marni1971's hints too (great escape, world of wall-e ......).

I'll raise your Herbie and throw in Benny.

Join Benny the lovable, yet loud-mouthed "Taxi of Toontown" as he stops at the 1964 World's Fair of Tomorrow where Roger Rabbit is being honored as the first (accidental) "astoonaut" in space!

Maybe not entirely accurate in positioning but this is close to the amount of space Tron takes up. I'm thinking it goes on this side of the Speedway.

I hope I'm wrong but the Tron ride looks extremely uncomfortable. Can anyone who's ridden on it tell me if that's true? Does it hurt your neck or back to sit like that?

I wish they'd just make the seats like Avatar FOP. That's actually how you ride a motorcycle. Not on your shins with your legs to the back.

Very comfortable and the position makes it quite a lot more exciting. I am sure some guests will try to ride like you say, but the restraint system won't let them.
