Well, I don't know about that.
What we had on national TV last week was Oprah who is worth 3 Billion (with a
B) Dollars interviewing two privileged and spoiled people worth considerably less, but from their palatial estate in Montecito that they just bought for $14 Million.
Covid has destroyed the economy, Disneyland is still closed, and I'm supposed to feel sorry for the Prince of England and his camera-hog actress wife?
I can think of many, many people on this planet more deserving of my pity than those two wealthy fools.
Prince Harry won't take a DNA test because he knows that Prince Charles is not his father and thus there's no royal blood in him (
Cue the youngsters Googling scandalous newspaper reports circa 2000, then look at the real father in his Polo gear, then look back at Harry. Oops!). Meghan Markle is a middling, out of work B List actress that was in some show I'd never heard of. But she married well, to her credit. Now she complains about it. From the patio of her $14 Million Montecito estate.
Got it.
Until very recently I honestly had no idea that Meghan Markle was Black. A Hispanic lady at a dinner party this past weekend was just as shocked as I was when she said
"I thought she was Puerto Rican! I can always spot fellow Puerto Ricans!". That lady brought down the house with that line.
I actually thought Miss Markle was vaguely Italian or something. Maybe Turkish? Black never entered my mind from the few photos I'd seen, but I believe her if she says she's Black. Anyone can indentify as anything now, so more power to her!
But when single mothers are still out of work and struggling in this closed Covid economy? I'm supposed to feel sorry for Prince Harry and his actress bride? No thanks.
I know human misery when I see it, and that's not human misery.
