Tom Bricker has a column about the 5 Castles of Disney World. In that column, he linked to a site that showed the original blueprints under "Egret Castle".
fantastic find

Meet the World, a carousel theatre show (but the central stage would rotate in the middle of static seating) on an upper level, with a modern shopping district below it.
Early on it was intended to open October 1982. Time, money, and incorrect structural designs of the show building pushed it to a phase two status, same as Rhine River. Sponsored attractions took the limelight after that, Morocco, Seas, Norway, Wonders. That would have been neat, a shame it didn’t make the cut. What time frame was that from?
fantastic find

To be honest, I don't get this diagram at all, which seems to show the pre-show leading directly to "Stage 1." Could you explain?
“Meet the World” segment begins at 4:57
Carosuel theater changes at 6:05
The diagram is for the final version. So what’s shown in the Japan pavilion plans would have to be an earlier iteration. Thanks, but that doesn't answer my questions. Martin's video shows what is presumably rotating seating, but that's not what he just said. And my point is that the diagram doesn't make sense--it shows the queue leading to a stage. I'm wondering if the diagram is an earlier or later version of what Martin shows in his video.
The theater will stay but the show itself may change.I'm fine with this as long as IDF stays, which is what most people seem to think.

Heaven forbid we update a 30+ year old film...The theater will stay but the show itself may change.
Ironically it needs maybe 10-15% updating. Far less than Wonders of China did.Heaven forbid we update a 30+ year old film...
Sadly, even tough only a few shots only need replacing... I bet it wouldn't get approved as a project unless at least 25% of the shots were new. Not saying that they couldn't get some great new material in there, but to marni's original point... it would be fine with a 10% swap.Ironically it needs maybe 10-15% updating. The new projection system worked wonders. Give or take the odd broken pixel or hundred.
And leave the soundtrack as it is. That can't be improved upon.
I'd love to see a fresh film that paid homage to many of the romantic shots, showed some modern sequences and kept the exact same score. And leave the soundtrack as it is. That can't be improved upon.
I was there last Wednesday and didn't see any.Sorry to bump this, was just curious if anyone who has been to the parks recently has seen any kind of progress (ie cranes)?
