Removal of Main Street Christmas Wreaths Due to New Parade

Well first let me start by saying that I haven't seen the new parade yet so I don't know how high the new floats are. However, here in Paris they have been using garlands for two years now and they put them higher than the buildings on Main Street. Like that the floats can pass under without any problems. And at least the last float is very high. Maybe that can be a solution. I have included some pics of the last two years for you to understand what I mean.

Does anyone have an update on this? Will there be new (raised) garlands for this year now that FOF is too tall to keep the old ones or are we pretty much just losing them?

First week of NOV: Whoever goes to WDW often, please post a photo letting us know what has been done with the garlands!

I'm going to go with nothing replaces the cross street garlands, That being said I HOPE I am incorrect.
There are those who claim to have already seen the replacement. I am hopeful. Another Christmas removal would be sad, especially on Main Street, which still manages to be pretty spectacular on holiday season evenings.

I have said it somewhere on these blue pages before, but IMO not only will the Christmas decorations be lacking in MK but thru out the entire resort as well. Its an easy cost cutting maneuver. They wont totally disappear of course. They have been diminishing over the years. I have told the story before but my first visit to WDW was in the mid seventies. We were there during the Christmas week. On all of the resort rooms that kids were staying Disney hung stockings filled with small toys and candy for every child....the small things....the Disney "magic" :sigh: gone.

THIS is the kind of thing that made WDW great and sadly is gone now, Interestingly enough during this period the parks percentage wise were far more profitable than today which is a measure of management efficiency.
