Maybe the culprit was this guy, who was attempting to do it again before @JIMINYCR called him out (?)Once when I went on Pirates, in the scene with the skeletons on the beach, one of them had a red card around his neck. It was pretty funny.
One time someone was handed the card in front of us and I saw him put it in his pocket after walking a short distance in the queue. When we all got to the loading area he started to walk to his numbered lane and I called out... Hey the CM needs that card to manage the ride time. He sheepishly took it out of his pocket and said... Oh yeah, I forgot I had it.
Technology took over. But you can’t beat FLIK cards and a seasoned cast members knowledge of their attractions queue and capacity .Whatever happened to those? Magic bands and Bluetooth took over?
They used to hand out red cards at the entrance to attractions. The CM would scan it, hand it to someone getting in line who would then hand it to a CM at the other end of the queue, who would scan it again there. The time between scans would then be reflected in the displayed wait time for the attraction. So what kind of cards are we talking about? The ones that show the wait at the entrance ?
Thanks! They used to hand out red cards at the entrance to attractions. That’s really clever. They used to hand out red cards at the entrance to attractions. The CM would scan it, hand it to someone getting in line who would then hand it to a CM at the other end of the queue, who would scan it again there. The time between scans would then be reflected in the displayed wait time for the attraction.
They didn't always have that printed on them ?
The ones I received did. They didn't always have that printed on them ?
I just remember red cards with no text. Maybe with a red rubber cover on them? Interesting that some had text on them. The ones I received did.
I believe the text was added in later years. I remember getting one or two early on without text. It was a big deal to get the “red card” in our family.I just remember red cards with no text. Maybe with a red rubber cover on them? Interesting that some had text on them.
That was my guess. The text was added in later years.
Oh, I'm probably older than you then........I believe the text was added in later years. I remember getting one or two early on without text. It was a big deal to get the “red card” in our family.
If I get one at Peter Pan I'm heading over to CHH for a chicken salad upstairs then I'm standing on line......I was given one of these for Pirates at Disneyland back in September, waited a little while, it was moving fairly quickly until I got through the doors and the queue just stopped moving for some reason so I left the line as I suddenly had to pee really bad and then rejoined the queue again from the back as I was on my own and it didn’t seem that long and didn’t want to be that person who pushes their way through the whole line. Forgot I had to card until boarding and so the time would have been really messed up![]()
