Remember the cards the cast members would hand you at the queue entrance and collect at the end to adjust wait times?

I miss the red cards quite a bit. Was always exciting as a kid to be chosen to carry the red card through the line.

I am really curious as to how they replaced it. Did they just get enough data and the card provided little to no benefit? Were the red cards seen as an unnecessary expense as they got broken or stolen?

It seems like with new attractions like GotG (which had extremely inaccurate waits the other day, as one could expect for a new attraction) would still benefit from the red cards system as they collected data on the queue, and so I’m guessing it’s just one of those things that they got rid of with Covid and don’t see the value in bringing back.

And with MDE/Play! they can (theoretically) track the length of the line from entrance to ride, but it doesn’t work if the line’s overflowed.
