Given the contemporary, “white and bright” room movement, I fear the loss of the 1950s tiki kitsch and something like this for the Pacific Ocean color palette:

I'm holding out hope that maybe they will raise the roof, and give it a bigger feel on the lobby?I'm happy to see those rafters go. They were just decorative, anyway. Without them, the Polynesian looks like an Econo Lodge. And who doesn't love an Econo Lodge?
They must be replacing them. They are iconic and a motif carried though out the resort. I wouldn’t be surprised if they replaced them with powder coated metal beams.Link? Which beams where? The entire monorail station is being replaced.
This is the answer we're looking for and 100 Bob Bucks to youThe retro tiki kitsch is the only reason to stay there. If they eliminate that, well... good luck.
Never fear. Disney forgets that they they created a fluffy little monster in Stitch who is not so easy to get rid of. Just ask Gantu.
Here is a good room tour without any intro fluffCould someone please point me to photos of the current rooms? I keep thinking I've found them but they turn out to be the DVC studios.

It appears as though room decor and furniture, from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, is being cleared from at least one longhouse.
Today, at the Lakeland Antique Mall, artwork, chairs, lamps, and tables were available from two rooms.

Which is good, as some of the furniture looked a little beat up on our last stay. Hopefully they make some similar decor choices.Don't forget, most of that furniture was recently seen in an Orlando thrift store last month.
The beams are steel padded out with wood to make them look all wood. I would expect a cosmetic facelift and painting before half are reinstalled. Also seems the tails land close to the station roof so no wonders why they are being taken down. They must be replacing them. They are iconic and a motif carried though out the resort. A rafter is a type of beam, so I let it pass.Shout out to @lazyboy97o for not losing his mind with everyone here calling those rafter thingies "beams."
Use of steel beams doesn’t make them a beam. You can also use steel beams as columns.@_caleb , they are steel I beams
