The inferno barge will be back, see the other thread. Sometime between February and April, depending on who's timetable you believe.

I know. I read the other posts.... What I meant was maybe the explosion caused the series of rumors to gain speed. I did not mean the explosion caused Disney to make the RoE show's run end...

..hence the Story that the Barge exploded while testing a new effect, thats what was stated here and in other sites..

I don`t recall that story being on WDWMagic? There wasn`t a new effect being tested - the ALF malfunctioned and the pyro appears to have detonated inside the launch tube.

BTW, PhotoDave, as edward said the majority of us do value your news.

Although I do belive your correct, that wasn't posted here, it was posted in a few other places. I too heard it was an ALF malfunciton, but some people are still hearing new effect.

From time of day, the location, the fact guests saw everything (and photographed it) and from the response both immiediatley and during the aftermath I`d be surprised if it was a test of some sort.

Not to mention if it was a test than why is the inferno barge and ALF MIA.

I have been hearing the rumor about a new Illuminations coming in 2007 for Epcot's 25th for months, I have always liked RoE but I think they need to make a newer version of IllumiNations, and such a perfect chance to update it for Epcots 25th...but If the rumor is not true, I hope that some change comes to it, A new finale would be great..or some other addition to it. I just hope something new comes to it soon.

I know others dont notice it..but I miss the Inferno barge from the show :-( Hope It returns soon.

If they do replace Illuminations, I hope it'll be something like Illuminations 2.0

They could add alot more new effects, and have a new score ( hopefully by Gavin Greenaway ). One thing I do miss about the earlier illuminations is that they had seperate fireworks for each pavillion. Now I'd like it if they could incorperate that into the show as well.

according to my source, (head Pyrotechnic specialist for IllumiNations) there was NO NEW EFFECT being tested. This is what could have been misconcepted.

1. The addition to the show for the Christmas Eve run. (and new years)
2. The new Laser Cues to cover for the Inferno Barge while its in sick bay. (its said to be back in february)
3. The possible upgrade of the show control system (to a simmilar system as wishes.)

Somthing i think would be awsome. Is if they added like 165 moving lights to the show. All around the lagoon. (yes its possible)

So no, the show isnt ending its run at epcot. (Belive my if you want and if you dont than dont. But please dont harass me about the source of info.)

Well, 2007 = the 25th anniversary of EPCOT. If they are planning to bring in a special Illuminations because of that, then so be it. I love Reflections of Earth, but if they are going to incorporate the park's anniversary into a new fireworks show, then I am completely OK with that.

I would like them to bring back some old-school EPCOT-style music to the new show. I think that would be nice to experience. :D

How do you mean? I'm curious of what you are thinking...do you mean lights like those on top of the pavilions or just effect lights?

Upgrades to the show I would like to see: The addition of LED lighting to the pavilions, meaning they could now change colors. :) The usage of light patterns more sophisticated than those used with the outline lighting on the pavilions during the Celebration portion of the show (if you haven't noticed before because of the fireworks, the venues actually dim in and out during that part). I'd like to see a rehab of the globe, which I'm sure will happen now that Illuminations has a sponsor. I would personally love to see some new pyro ideas to jazz up the show. There are a lot of neat things they could do with current technology...hell, they create their own technology, so I would love to see the incorporation of new ideas...they ARE always thinking. :)

As a theater techie and fan of pyro, I'm all about adding to ROE. The soundtrack is one of my favorite compositions of all time, and I listen to it in the car, at work and at home often. If they redid the effects using the same soundtrack (perhaps a new ending, I can live with that!), it could be uber stellar!

Robolights on the banks, and on the WS pavilions would be awesome - they can provide amazing effects. They could also flood the pavilions with colored lighting (similar to the castle) during different parts (if they don't already do this). They could utilize the lasers a bit more, and incorporate the pavilions into the show WAY more than they do now, like cac2889 implied. LED or fiber lighting, and floods, would allow them to change color accordingly. New pyro effects could jazz it up for sure. Shooting fireworks from each pavilion would be awesome - similar to how Wishes shoots from alternate locations to sort of "surround" you with the show.

The show is awesome, don't get me wrong - but with new technologies in lighting, pyro and other SFX, the possibilities are endless. Perhaps with this new sponsor, and the 25th coming up, we'll all be pleasantly surprised!

It would be cool if the new Illuminations *If there is a new Illuminations ever* should have a combination of past Illuminations effects and parts and peices of different shows put together with some new cool effects to create a big all new show. :-)

I hope the rumor is true, but we'll have to wait and see. I know ROE has it's fair share of fans, but I've never been one of them.

Here, here. ROE is nothing compared to the original show.

I hope they keep ROE- Not only is it my favorite thing at WDW, but, to me, it represents everything that WDW is all about.

I agree, I blare the Soundtrack in the car and see all these cool things in my head they can add. But yea, im a light designer. What I think they should do is add "Light Barges" Which lay both horizontal and extend up vertical (Trussing material i mean, not the barge lol). I would rig it with lots of Cyberlights, (Because the soundtrack has lots of fast beats in it, scanners are much more efficent with speed) which would be for effect out on the audience, pavilions earth globe, etc, and alot of HES Moving yolk fixtures, especially washes (studio color) which could lay horizontal on the barge and flood the water with color, so The mood of the music can be reflected off the water literally. (gives the water a glowing look) The have profile fixtures with lithopatterns in it, so in some instances we could rotate the lithos and hit the water and make it look like its shimmering, all sorts of things. POssibilitys are endless with moving lights and ROE is a perfect example. That kind of music is one of the best instances to apply moving lights. I would also probably throw 2K maybe 3k fixtures on top of the pavilions to higlight other pavilions and get better distance out of the water. But Who else thinks this would be an awsome thing to see?
