Good to see, but just a word of warning from seeing the show over the past few days. Those pics are massively over-exposed.

Those photos are from video that was set to record as seen by the eye.

The photos are untouched. I took them.

Although the system is still being tweaked it's so refreshing to see long forgotten effects, new programming, and some unexpected tricks too.

And with virtually no smoke in frame for the main show. One can only think what it will look like with a hazy smoke cloud.

The video is way over exposed then. If you look at the barges in the water, you can clearly see them in the video grabs. I can almost count the number of launch tubes in the finale barge . In person, they are barely visible with the naked eye. Another example would be the grass on the island. I would say that video is about +3 or +4 stops over exposed - at least.

You do realise everything in those frames is illuminated by pyro bursts don't you?

As such, you can see the launchers and grass with the naked eye too.

Haha okay the video was slightly overexposed to match the eye and manually locked to avoid automatically stopping down with the pyro and flames. Nothing major.

I finally got the video that shows the upgrades perfectly. The instalation is still being tweaked but by God. I nearly fell off my chair.

Just hopefully waiting for permission to upload the whole thing.

I am FORCIBLY reminded of Illumi88 and the Rhapsody in Blue scene.

AMAZING.

Now... where's the video?!?

Looks like the good old days over the World Showcase lagoon, do both islands have lasers and are we getting more laser time thru out the show?

Both islands have lasers... according to these shots that my friend took yesterday.

Since @Sage of Time posted a pic of it, can I ask a slightly unrelated question, what's the deal with the blank green billboards on the islands as seen to the right of the laser box in this picture:

Didn't they once have something painted on them? There's one on the island near China as well, I believe.

Those billboards cut out in the shape of a bush are to block stray laser beams from the audience just in case they miss. I'm assuming they will take they will be coming down soon.

I was always under the impression that those "bushes" contained the mirror bounces for the old lasers? It would be nice to see them go.

The new lasers look fantastic. Best I've ever seen them looking.

As for the holiday tag lite? No thanks. It's not what it once was… Feel shorter and nowhere near as intense as it used to be. What angers me off the most? It wasn't even done for budgetary reasons… Just management making a change to change it for the sake of changing it.

And for everyone who was ripping on the new narrator? She's not know. That's Mary from comedy warehouse. The same person who used to introduce illuminations 10 years ago. (I'm referring to the preshow for all you people who love to argue and split hairs)

Was able to see the new lasers this week. From the videos I was very unimpressed.

In person.....HUGE improvement. You will all have to see the show to believe just how much energy and credibility they add to the show. Well done.

Yup! Glad that she's back. I like her voice. She's got nothing on Cronkite, but she does have a very EPCOTian quality to her voice.

Yes. But she was doing the "in just 30 minutes" announcements back in 2004.

So to categorize her as a new addition to the show is Inaccurate.

Personally? I'd rather have a straight up holiday show like Way back in the day.
