The images shown of the show indicate it will be beautiful. but I can't help but be dismayed at the huge distraction the barges are during the day. I always enjoyed being able to gaze across the water with a nearly unobstructed view in whatever direction I chose.

Having made it out there in person now, my god.. here is my thoughts.

#1. "Someone is over compensating for something"
#2. "LED VIDEO SCREENS BAM!! RIGHT IN YOUR FACE!!!!"
#3. "Ugh"

Guys, I know there was a lot of debate about using zoom lens and odd photo angles.
Forget it, forget all of that!

These things are ugly and way out of proportion visually.
No matter where you walk or look around world whatever were calling it, it doesn't get any better.
Even if you have a drink at each country as you walk around the world, it's still not getting better.

Daytime fountains are NOT going to hide them, nor make them look better.
It sticks out worse than that Circus did 20 years ago at Epcot.

I don't care how the final end product at night looks, in the day time you can't help but stare at the void.

Hell it actually makes you be thankful for construction wall city over at the other side of the park.
At least those are painted with nice graphics on them.

This thing, is just brute force Totalitarianism!
I'd dare say it's some kinda bad german contraption thing, dreamed up by Adolph von Menzel.

Look if you gave Tim Burton the design job on these things, he wouldn't have accepted it.
Ugh!

For the insiders who may have heard some of Harms soundtrack, does any part of it included a instrumental version of, possibly a attraction not from Epcot? I’ll keep it at that for now in case what I heard has a connection.

I'm sure it may be somewhere in this thread but is there any chance they eventually construct the lagoon expansion backstage to hide the barges as was planned years ago?

"It's not that they couldn't have brought these crazy huge platforms out from the marina everyday. They really could have (even if the marina would be a little tight on space). The issue is that the projected amount of time to get these things in and out was way higher than anyone was willing to stomach. Supposedly it could have gone over an hour on a windy day, which was something that ops wasn't willing to put up with. That drawbridge would either stay up for an obscenely long amount of time, or go up and down enough to be like a game of frogger for guests."
