refillable mugs???

Non of my mugs have dates on them....but it would be nice if they stated that this year then we would know we would have a different mug next year...even if it was just a change in the date!!!!

I'm amongst those who was bummed over Disney's decision to stop making resort-specific mugs, but I was under the impression that the new mugs have the year printed on them. Am I wrong? Did they used to have the year on them, and even gave that up?

The year of a million dreams mug did. But the red "celebrate" on used for the last year doesn't.

I vote for a change because I dislike the red ones. I have quite a collection now too, but only use two regularly at home. (What? You don't fill your mugs with cheap Nescafe and then try to finish it before the next city bus stops on the corner just to "bring back the magic"? )

My favorite is my Port Orleans mug.

Ive found that I can refill all my mugs, the top comes off if you prize it open.

I wish they would go back to the short fatter ones too......I know you get the same ammount of liquid but just like theshape of them. Also I liked that you could pop the bottom off and hide cash inside when you were hanging out at the pools when you didnt have any pockets.

That article is from 2002, I don't think Mike Scopa writes for mouseplanet anymore. I think that is when the water parks got their refillable mugs with the UPC scanner codes.

Blizzard Beach still has the shorter, fat mugs. I got one when I went in November. It was kind of a pain though because sometimes when I went to refill it the barcode wouldn't read.
I'm sure many people bring their mugs back year after year if they're not changing the design. If they changed the design each year, or brought back the resort specific mugs, I'm sure they would make more money. We have ASM one and one from 2 years ago and I know if we stay at a different resort, we would buy another mug but only if it were resort specific. If it was just the same generic one every resort had, we'd just bring the one we bought 2 years ago. If they're all the same, why bother buying a new one when we can just save money and bring the one we already have? I think Disney would make more money bringing back the resort specific mugs IMO :animwink:

We were just there a few weeks ago, and sadly the mugs are the same (red celebrate ones with either yellow, red or black lid/handle). I was hoping that they would change them for the MKs anniversary and since there is a new promotion. Now we have 7 of the red ones, really hope the next time we go they have different ones, i too would like to see the resort specific mugs return.

I'd be shocked if resort-specific mugs ever return, but I am a little surprised they didn't change the design for the promotion. YOMD and Celebration each had their own design.

I have one of the blue mugs from the Year of a Million Dreams with 2007 written on it. Went back in 2008 and the same blue mugs didn't have the year on it and haven't seen a year on them since. Hope to see a change in mug design by this summer.
