I was just thinking the same thing??? I been wondering if Disney would go back to the resort specific mugs or if there will be a memories themed one like there has been in the past few years with the celebrate today theme.

I heard from a bus driver that Disney gets all of its soda for free anyway. So if you want to bring an old mug or an empty 2-liter bottle to fill, the CMs won't care.

They might get it for free, but i know if i were a CM(and ive been in this type of business all my life) Id consider it stealing if you are in fact supposed to be paying for it.

So what was the verdict on the new mugs? Heading down in March and we are definitely buying new ones again, but I too was hoping they have at least changed them a bit since we bought our last 4 back in March 2009.

Any pics from someone who just got back would be appreciated (especially Pop Century ones if they did indeed change back to resort specific).

I was in St. Augustine, FL working last week and saw some tourists who had obviously just come up from WDW. Though I didn't get a super close look (even though I wanted to! :ROFLOL:) it appeared that the mugs they were carrying were the same as the ones I got last Spring. So, it looks like there was either no change in design, or they were cheapskates and brought their old mugs. haha!

I couldn't imagine Coca Cola giving Disney soda for free. That would be lunacy, you know how much money Coke would be losing? Disney must pay for it, it probably only costs them pennies per drink, but they definitely have some sort of contract.

I'm amongst those who was bummed over Disney's decision to stop making resort-specific mugs, but I was under the impression that the new mugs have the year printed on them. Am I wrong? Did they used to have the year on them, and even gave that up?

I am looking at my mugs that I have collected over the years now and I don't see any dates on them from the ones that are resort specific or on the celebrate one I got last year.
