Hi everyone. I did a search for this but nothing really answered my question. And if there was a thread already Im sorry but I couldnt find it. My question is...I have several Mugs from different resorts and for years I have brought them back to the resort and used them again and again...I heard a rumor or read it somewhere but I forget....that now you have to buy a new mug everytime you go and that they have this policy written on the new mugs now. I havent been down since Nov 03 and we stayed at Ft. Wilderness and didnt have mugs but I know in the past I had brought ones back and had no problem. I was just wondering if anyone has been down recently and noticed a change at all. Thanks in advance for any info! :wave:

Can someone substantiate this statement for me?
I have heard several people say that Coke GIVES their products to Disney but I have a hard time believing this.

I need to see it in writing somewhere.
I'm having a hard time believing that one of the largest companys in the world is GIVING their products away.

Please...I need it from someone direct..not "I have a friend who...or I heard it from a guy who works at....or I know someone who's cousin is a....."

Although I can't say I've heard it directly, it had to do with sponsorship. Coke is the only company used in the parks for fountain drinks, so Disney made a sweet deal.

You wont see it in writing anywhere, as details of contracts between sponsors and Disney are not within the public domain.

Remember companies like CocaCola spend billions on advertising. That is what the arrangement with WDW is, advertising, and lots of it. You can rest assured that both parties do very well out the agreement they have, otherwise it wouldnt be in existance.

Thanks Ringo8n24 - I had just thought that sometimes in a "heated discussion" it gives people a giggle to just see something different and take it easy a little. Apparently I had not realized what a dead serious kind of thing this was. By the way, we are nearly neighbors - nice to finally get a bit of cool weather, huh?

Sorry - I will be sure to use the little smileys in the future - I guess I figured it would be obvious - but you are right, it can be hard to tell from just a plain post sometimes.

Don't worry about it Rebecca. I totally understood your posts...especially when you ended up with the "weather talk" on the last one which by the way the cool spell seems to be ending. Welcome to the boards!! :animwink:

Yes, you forgot the two biggies of all time...

#2 - Resort Pool Hopping (viewed by some as a capital offense and by others as something they're "entitled to").

And the number one thing to occur on these boards that is guaranteed to tick people off.....(drum roll please)......

Posting a topic that has already been posted without doing a search first!! (Never have understood why this one upsets people so much, but there's always at least one person who points out this transgression whenever it's committed).

well, you hit the nail on the head with that one and NEVER EVER post a picture that someone has posted on a damaged piece of property. You will be accused of stealing bandwith. Not that the weather maps took up any.
Sorry, but, that really twisted my knickers, I felt so bad for the guy that posted it thinking he was doing something nice.

I don't think Buddha really cares if bring back my mug from time to time...

what if god hates disney and he is actually driving all the people to take free coke.

I will do it even if it means eternal damnation, seeing as that will be my one way ticket to hell, I guess i can have a little more fun while i am at it too... like attending gay days!

Oh yes, I remember that one! Wasn't that the one where the guy posted a picture of a damaged light pole or something, and people jumped down his throat for not "fixing" it or alerting Cast Members to the problem? I remember people were saying things like, "You'll take the time to stop and take a picture, but you won't take the time to warn people about it?". That cracked me up, because think about the logic...How long does it really take to stop and take a snapshot?? I felt bad for that guy too!
