Touché!! And they’re talking drought for us, so there’s that…Well there’s no gas there now so that part isn’t a problem
As I mentioned in my post, I get that they're trying the "throw everything at the wall" approach to hedge their bets; I'm just pointing out that this has led to contractions in their position which opens it up to more scrutiny and may hurt their argument in the end. This is fundamentally different from how Disney is handling things, regardless how many channels they use.You fight both sides if you have to. Same as Disney is going to fight this with PR and eventually in the courts.
I covered this one earlier:I’ll put it in terms you can understand.
Miami is the NYC (it wishes!) in this analogy, and Fort Lauderdale is the NJ.
And that’s the real issue here. They don’t follow the law at all anymore…they’re no “legislative safeguards” nowYou all seem to forget they will just give themselves that power.
The dissolution and reconstitution both had issues beyond freedom of speech. The original bill was also illegal based on targeting a company based on its 1A rights, so they clearly DGAF.
If you look 4,000 posts ago…this was my stance from the startI still think if Disney goes to court they’re gonna go after it all, including the underlying bill that started this mess.
This is a prime case of the around, find out diagram and I think DeSantis is about to find out the hard way.
I’m not agreeing the state is a prison in general, however the agenda he is pushing probably does make it seem that way for certain people he is targeting. It’s easy to say, if you don’t like it just move somewhere else but not everyone can afford to just quit their job and move to another state. So for those people they are stuck and it probably does feel something like a prison. If he turned the state into a prison why do thousands of people from all over the world keep relocating to FL and millions keep visiting annually?
And welcome to the forum !
…mmmm hmmmm…Walked into my office today and saw this reedy creek story plastered all over CNBC.
Because they think they’ll have more money…If he turned the state into a prison why do thousands of people from all over the world keep relocating to FL and millions keep visiting annually?

Because they think they’ll have more money…
In boom’s case: not pay as much and smite the people that ma and pa didn’t tell them would still be around…”poor people”…in essence.
It’s about money…all of it. All the “freedom” and “morality” and “taking back”
Money…greed…the worlds strongest narcotic.
Yeah it’s clear to anyone paying attention that they are throwing poo at the wall for sure. The state wants out of the contract so they can control Disney. They don’t really care how and they don’t really care about the optics either. The Governor told anyone who would listen….he was going to win. That’s all that we are seeing now. He doesn’t worry about the rule of law or looking like a cry baby. He calls a press tantrum and rants about winning and sticking it to woke Disney. His sheep eat that up but the masses just shake their heads. It’s kinda sad to see. He was supposed to be the adult in the room for that primary but I think nationally that ship may have sailed. As I mentioned in my post, I get that they're trying the "throw everything at the wall" approach to hedge their bets; I'm just pointing out that this has led to contractions in their position which opens it up to more scrutiny and may hurt their argument in the end. How is the state doing anything they can to undo the contracts even if it leads to contradicting themselves the "same" as Disney making one consistent argument in multiple channels? It's not.

Probably not wise for the legislature to pass a clearly unconstitutional bill in order to void a contract they are already convinced is null and void.
Of course, I was simply pointing out that they don't care about laws with what they're doing. There is a litany of legal defenses Disney can and will use.The dissolution and reconstitution both had issues beyond freedom of speech.
If you've opined, I've missed it.The dissolution and reconstitution both had issues beyond freedom of speech.
