Right, it just feels like they’re trying to get people riled up who don’t understand that the only individual citizens that are affected by theses taxes are the 50ish people that live in Lake Buena Vista and not the general Florida population.

And most aren't knowledgeable about the tax structure of Florida. As we've seen from the "make Disney pay their fair share of taxes" crowd.

New Press release from the Central Florida Oversight District 🙄:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CENTRAL FLORIDA TOURISM OVERSIGHT DISTRICT ADDRESSES MEN'S RESTROOM TOILET SEAT ISSUE

Central Florida, August 22, 2023 — The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all of our facilities. We take pride in providing a welcoming environment for visitors and employees alike. Today, we address a recent issue that has come to our attention concerning a restroom in our building.

Recently, it has been brought to our attention that there have been instances of the toilet seat not being properly placed in the down position in the men's restroom on the second floor. We understand that this can be an inconvenience and discomfort for our staff and guests, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

CFTOD is actively addressing this matter and taking steps to ensure that our restroom facilities meet the high standards of cleanliness and comfort that our visitors and employees expect. We have initiated the following actions to rectify the situation:

  1. Increased Monitoring: We have increased the frequency of restroom checks to ensure that the toilet seats are properly placed down after use.
  2. Awareness Campaign: CFTOD is launching an awareness campaign reminding all restroom users of the importance of leaving the toilet seat down after use for the comfort and convenience of everyone.
  3. Maintenance and Upgrades: We are also evaluating the restroom facilities on the second floor to identify any issues that may contribute to this problem and will undertake any necessary maintenance and upgrades.
  4. Feedback Mechanism: We encourage our visitors and employees to provide feedback on their experiences in our facilities, including restroom cleanliness and comfort, through our website and customer service channels.
  5. Govenor Ron DeSantis, has appointed a district maintenance lead from a member of his cabinet to tackle this and other similar issues. We are earmarking an annual salary of three hundred, sixty thousand dollars for this position, in whole, with money we will be saving after putting an end to the recently discovered Disney ticket scheme.
CFTOD remains committed to providing an outstanding experience for all those who visit our facilities. We deeply value the feedback and concerns of our patrons, and we are committed to addressing them promptly and effectively.

We thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we work to resolve this matter. The comfort and satisfaction of our visitors and employees are of utmost importance to us, and we will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of our operations.

For more information or to provide feedback, please visit our website at www.cftod.org.

Tell me that wasn't believable at least when you started reading it 😏

They all come off as if Glenn personally wrote them. He probably did. 400K to a chair of a podunk development district while the Governor gets 140K? That should be investigated and the taxpayers of the district should demand it!

Nothing prevents any citizen from going to the Ethics Commission website and filing a complaint. 😉

The next issues CFTOD may address are

Flush the toilet when you are finished with your business
Cover your plate when using the company break room microwave

Clean up after yourselves. Your mother does not work her.

Thankfully it wasn't the women's restroom, otherwise there would be full on witch hunt investigation.

Some may, but others may not. Depends what kind of annual pass they had. The IncrediPass is over $1k and the Sorcerers pass is $969. Couple it with discounts and this could actually be a benefits cut for anyone who had made use of it.
I can't imagine being the parent with multiple kids and having to go home to tell your spouse and your kids that the park admissions are going away, and they now only get $1000.

If you complain, you don't make enough, perks taking away , and not willing step up to earn more/ restructure , downsize your life through other ways, then little sympathy... Your post doesn't make sense.
Getting a bit off-topic, but this seems like a harsh response. I know the firefighters and RCID had been back and forth on contract negotiations for awhile, and CFTOD finally settled and approved a new contract. But, attacking them for “complaining”, and suggesting they need to work more or downsize their life is way over the line.
I don’t know all the details, but I’m firmly on the side of supporting them and compensating them with a good wage.

It's not a situation specific response, just blind sycophancy. You're not supposed to question your betters, just do what you're told and work harder to please them.

After going back and forth with negotiations , contract was approved.

This the best type of misdirection. It's technically true, while giving the wrong impression. Since, certainly, the taxpayers should be upset by this wasteful spending, and we're all taxpayers right? Right?

If they had written "it cost taxpayers to RCID over $2.5 million" it would lose some if it's impact. As people began think, "I don't pay taxes to RCID, so it's some other taxpayer that should be concerned". If it was clear that the taxpayers to RCID all voted and desired to spend the money this way, it would lose a lot of the PR impact. 🤷‍♂️
Exactly, the primary and by far the largest taxpayer to RCID was Disney, so they just gave a refund to the only major taxpayer that they have. What a crock of crap and grossly misleading that entire previous post is. It is implying that it is the Florida Taxpayers that financially supported RCID. Do people no longer have a working brain cell or have we become so evil as a society that we just want to believe the worst of everything.
