Ratatouille Roller Coaster

then it should go to France at Epcot

Honestly anything themed to Ratatouille should go into the France pavilion at EPCOT. I would love them to use the characters for a dark ride there which showcased some of the sights from oui Paris!

Thanks Lee for answering my questions.

THIS IS MADNESS!

Seriously, they need to stop the influx of Disney movie characters into Epcot. Original characters...fine...but Epcot shouldn't become Magic Kingdom 2.0. It didn't start that way and IMO is a mistake to start progressing towards that. Bringing characters into WS takes away from the "realism" of the pavillions IMO. It also makes the park less adult oriented(I think it needs to be).

Thanks for the info. The Incredibles still has my vote as "Pixar themed ride with most potential". And it is kind of a bummer that the ride system will simply be a clone, let's see something fresh!

A clone...you mean like the Omnimover system, the boat flume system, or the simulator?

A clone as in, probably the same track layout as Crush's Coaster.

The same way as the track for Rock 'n' Rollercoaster in Paris is the exact same as the WDW one.

redundant

I didn't sign on at all last night after I left work....can you guys believe that?!

my point to that statement was I don't have time to read everyone's reply to this thread so I kinda just skimmed it this morning. Talk about HUGE sidetrack with the Nemo thing...

but anyway...I don't think anyone else pointed this out (and if they did I apologize) but if this Ratatouille coaster is supposed be a classic indoor coaster...wouldn't it seem kind of redundant to Hollywood Studios since they ALREADY have an indoor coaster? That would be like having more than one 3D attraction at the same park, and those things get annoying. I dunno if I would be completely thrilled if the Ratatouille Coaster was going to be be another indoor coaster.

But you guys remember the original plans for Space Mountain? it was supposed to be an indoor AND outdoor coaster! Maybe something like that will make it alittle less redundant.

(how did ya'll like the "Hollywood Studios" name drop in there?:D )

California Adventure has two 3-D movies - Muppetvision and It's Tough to Be a Bug - and personally I rate them amongst the best attractions in the Park. Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom have Pirates and Small world. Both slow moving boat rides indoors, and I'd rate those among the best of that Park. Disneyland has Matterhorn and Thunder Mountain, and both are indoor/outdoor coasters...and again among the best in the Park. I don't think an indoor coaster is necessarily redundant if it's theme and story are completely different. If I had to choose between the two, though, I'd go with the Ratatouille one...but then I hate Aerosmith.

I find this really annoying. Ratatouille is a brand-new movie. There are many classics that don't have their own rides/attractions yet. Focus on those.

agreed! i mean i think it would be cool if they made a lady and the tramp ride not a ratatouille ride! i mean they could make so many different rides that would be better than a ratatouille ride.

We did Disney Paris this year for the first time (I haven't had time to write the trip report yet), Crushes coaster is fun however the version in Paris is not high volume enough for Orlando. They will need to consider a 2 track system or something.

The spinning cars hold 4 riders, and the line was long. We waited 1 hour (no fast pass).

Disney studios in Paris is a fraction the size of MGM and badly needs further investment. The TOT being built will add a lot to the park.

Really? I havent been on the Paris version, but I would think an awesome light show would only enhance the excitement factor. It looks like they disorient you and I would think it would make it feel as though you're going faster than you really are.

I agree with the *quality* of the Nemo job, Its just kind of random in Epcot. Kind of like the Disney Princess brunch/buffet thing in Norway.

Yeah, they really took a leap of logic but implementing characters from a movie that takes place in the sea and stars sea creatures in a pavilion called "The Living Seas". ;)

Sorry, I agree with you about Norway, but I don't see any thing wrong at all for what they did over at The Seas. Someone above also complained that you need to go on the ride to get in to see the exhibits; not true at all, just walk in through the gift shop. Easy as can be.

As to Ratatouille, I'm surprised to be honest. I'm all for any dark ride, so I can't say I'm unhappy about it, but the film bored me and I didn't finish watching it (just didn't hold my attention). I'd much prefer the same concept, say, applied to the Muppets, but I'm sure I'm in the minority.

No, it lights the room too much and looks like you're looping through a dance club.
