Where are the best places to see rare characters?
What are the best times to see rare characters?
What are some rare characters you have seen?

The reason i ask these questions is because i am on a mission to get my picture with every character that disney has but all i ever see are the same characters so i thought i should get other peoples input. Thank you very much for your info.

Uh...well no offense but you won't get your picture with EVERY character that Disney has. There's a lot of characters that exist but don't come out anymore. The only person that I know of who has a ton of pics with many characters is Drew. Character hunting is a long process, and if you want the rare ones, you're going to have to search because they're not going to be everywhere.

Be there at strange times. Special events, aka MNSSHP or MVMCP are good places to see a bunch. Some rare ones are reported as being around Town Hall while Spectro is canceled.

I also have an interest in getting my picture with as many characters as possible, especially the rare ones. From what I have read, seeing rare characters is mostly luck, and your best bet at seeing rare characters is at special events like the Holiday & Halloween events.

I asked my KTTK tour guide why the same characters are always out. He said that so many guests visit WDW rarely, and when they do come, they expect to get pictures with the main characters. If they don't get to see them, they complain. So all the main characters will always be out. Disney fanatics really want to see rare characters though because we've seen the regulars enough.

He said that basically this is how it works. There are so many CM's scheduled to be characters on a given day. If they're overstaffed, or there is a CM with nothing to do, they will be a different character to be in the park. These aren't on the times guides, are random, and can possibly be rare characters. But once again - that's right place, right time, luck.

The teardrop in Toon Town is one of your best bets. When they are training new CM to be friends with characters they will put them in the teardrop. Normally they are learning from some of the rarer characters what being a friend is all about.

We ran into Alice, Princess Aurora & The Queen here. It was the first time that I had seen Aurora out and about.

Check out this site for character autograph info. I rely on it a lot.

Very cool site! Thanks!

I note especially that Kings Stefan and Rupert apparently have never been done!

Alice and the other wonderland characters can be seen at the 1900 Park Faire breakfast. Aurora is often at France in Epcot.

You know, while you are at WDW, you can go to City Hall, or any gift shop, and ask them to call "Chip's character hotline" for you if you have a specific question about a character that you are interested in. I suppose that going in with a mile-long list would not be appreciated, but if you have a question about a specific character or two that you are interested in, they'll be happy to help you.

I don't get to do the meals with the princesses and such, My two are not into those characters.:(
Thanks for the info about the hotline. Our #1 quest is Brer Rabbit. I am hoping we will finally get to see him at the MNSSHP on the 5th, and hopefully a few more that we have not seen.

Great site btw DizneyPryncess I enjoyed it very much!

:D:wave: I happen to have quite a few myself (of course, I don't think I will ever have as many as Drew, or Sue- the creator of that website. But I am working on it). Here's my own website:

You may also see some random friends near American Adventures In World Showcase. This is another training area.

In MK, you can go to Town Hall on Main Street and ask where exactly the characters will be out at certain times of the day. That way you can see if there are any rare ones scheduled. I'm pretty sure you can also go to Guest Relations in each of the other parks and ask there.

If you want to see a character you can always ask Guest Relations to call the C.H.I.P. Hotline to see. Requests from the hotline can sometimes bring a character back out into the parks or put a bug in thier ear.

Back when I was a kid, and really can't remember much of the trip because I was so little I got to meet some of the characters from the Rescuers. I doubt they ever appear anymore but I had the photo on a t shirt as a kid, that was before they even did the autograph thing.
