A decision to build Zootopia Land at DAK would be shades of Eisner' s last years as CEO.

A temp M&G makes a little sense. Anything bigger would be troubling for DAK' s future. Look how long it took to fix CMM. And we are still stuck with Dinorama.

Jungle Book is the better choice.
1. I don’t know why they can’t do what Disneyland did, where you have a temp. M&G area that operates at certain times of the day until you find a good spot for a perm. M&G that runs all day.

2. What is CMM?

Can someone please explain to me how a company like Disney is losing money with their theme parks? I'm no economist but with all of the massive and I mean MASSIVE crowds, the up-charge events, raising prices for admission, over-charging for food and beverages, ticketed seasonal events, parking fees, outrageously priced hotels, and thousands of sales in equally over-priced merch...how are they not rolling in cash? I'm not knocking them, I just truly don't understand this.

RPW has been a staple of my visits recently. This is super depressing.

It's not an issue of the parks not making a profit, it's an issue of the parks not making the amount of profit that they Disney told the stockholders they would make, or even worse, making less profit then last year.

Keep in mind that WDW has the luxury of 4 theme parks so properties don't have to be shoehorned in that create theming inconsistencies.

Have a friend who used to work at DAK. She said Rafiki was destined to go since she worked there in her opinion. More people leaving there unhappy than people leaving there happy. It just kinda took too much time out of the day for not enough reward. The only people that ever really got into it were very young kids who couldn't ride anything and enjoyed the petting zoo and people who come to the parks rather often (atleast once or twice a year) and therefore have no problem taking a stupidly long time to do it.

Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a budget cut. And it is a shame when things are cut without plans for a replacement. But Rafiki was (based on anecdotal evidence at least) making people's days worse for most people.

I would agree with this. We went many a time when the kids were younger and it was sure a lot of walking for not much. Then one time we went, spent minimal time there but had to wait 40min to catch the train to get back. We never went again, and we had never seen an actual procedure occurring in the times we had gone.

For the last 5-7 years, it's not even been on our radar. We did the animal trails and even ITTBAB but the train and rafiki didn't cross our mind.

I have to admit, the most entertaining part of threads like this is the number of people spouting opinion and rumours as fact, as if they have inside info on the inner workings of WDW. There are very few people here that are reliable sources, with @marni1971 being the guy everyone should listen to. Most of the rest of you should stop depending on the bus drivers and CMs working the cash register at Cosmic Rays for your “inside” information.
I have gotten use to it reading this forum overtime and just ignore it or try to play devils advocate. :)

Heard a rumor that this area will become a Zootopia themed attraction. I have no evidence of that...just a rumor.
That rumor keeps popping up every couple of days or so. All of our insiders keep saying that it has never been a serious option. And definitely is not happening anytime soon.

Shanghai might be getting one though.

And to head of the discussion starting again. Zootopia does not naturally fit into Animal Kingdom either visually or thematically. It could be made to with a fair amount of effort. But it doesn't naturally at all. It has become more of a niche franchise so why go through the trouble of forcing it to fit into animal kingdom. Especially when the number of people who would be excited by the addition are outnumbered by people who would be upset by it in DAK. Is that where we left this conversation off last time? Good. So, we don't have to have it again.

(no hostility or anything meant towards you @Darth_Wes. You were ust bringing up a rumor you heard. This site is built and sustained by people doing that. This particular rumor is just one that has come up far too often lately considering how many reliable sources keep shooting it down)

Rumor: Zootopia Coming To Shainghai

Zootopia at Animal Kingdom?

Not to fuel Zootopia discussion, but if it's still relevant in 5 years, I think it's a viable replacement for Star Tours using those simulators.

At the absolute most, Zootopia should be a C/D-ticket ride and a meet and greet.
People should remind him at every opportunity.

Temp stuff like Incredibles in the MK are not a concern IMO. Even Up works at DAK. Just because Zootopia has Zoo in the title is not a qualification.
