Radiator springs ideas

Sorry if I hi-jacked your thread. But, I've gotten tired of the attitude around here that just assumes that Pixie Hollow is a bad idea. Everyone seems to be scrambling to find a replacement idea when there's no need.

1. Because Disney's not going to listen and
2. Because Pixie Hollow can work.

If you'd have started a thread to brain storm Carsland, that would have been one thing. But your original post was a call to arms to overthrow the Pixie Hollow concept with your own.

Its wishful thinking but if we brain storm and come up with enough great ideas for radiator springs in place of pixie hollow maybe we can get enough attention.

all I know is pixie is lame.

Those two quotes struck me as Pixie-trashing/belly aching. Sorry. I calls 'em likes I sees 'em.

For my part, I'll refrain from posting about PH on this thread again unless I feel the need to respond to something PH-related someone else posts.

Daydream away.

Instead of having the "Fantasyland Expansion" section, this should just be a Pixie Hollow bashing section, because thats pretty much all that goes on. By the way, I love the idea of a Radiator Springs land at WDW but it just doesn't fit in Fantasyland as well as Pixie Hollow.

Proposals exist to raze the Blacklot Tour to build a Carsland at the Studios. Fortunately, it seems to me that this proposal is on solid ground.

That would be nice but no I don't expect that. If you want to build PH scale it back to the size of the one in DL, it would be justified in my eyes if they did that.

Hey Figment...

Have you heard that in order to appeal to the litle boys, Disney has come up with a GUY Fairy, Slate! Its just to intice the boys that they can play in PH, too!
In my day and age growing up, little boys just didn't play with fairies. And if you did then you became a 'fairy', too!

Although I really don't care either way about PH or the expansion plans, I do want to say...
Even though I know Disney is banking on the princesses as a draw for the little girls, it seems they are only focusing on them and not the little boys! If I were a little boy I would not want to visit the new and improved FL with just princesses. Heck, even as an adult, I tend to only travel through FL as a shortcut to get from Tomorrowland to Liberty Square. I would stop at IASW and Dumbo(since I never rode before I will in December 2011) Fantasyland just doesn't do anything for me, I guess because I associate the area with princesses.

Just a thought, I wish they would even the odds up for the boys and incorporate something for them to WANT to go to FL!

I would have to say you actually do care about the fairies after this post.....

In my opinion about Carsland in place of the Backlot Tour, personally I would ive Disney a chance to get the Backlot area back to the way it was and was an attraction that was worth going on. Since they buiild Lights, Motors, Action area the totally ruined the backlot experience!
All the talk about Carsland...maybe take out Lights, Motors, Action and replace it with Carsland. Because I do not see LMA keeping the crowds in the future. All it is is a stunt show that you can see anywhere else near your hometown! Put in something that has staying power...better yet, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE DHS PARK TAKEN BACK TO A WORKING STUDIO PARK AND BE ABLE TO WATCH SHOWS BEING TAPED OR FILMS BEING PRODUCED ON THE BACKLOT STREETS. A WORKING STUDIO WAS THE THEME IN THE BEGINNING, WHY STRAY AWAY FROM IT!?

And the reason this was all in caps was?

Since we're still talking about princesses and fairies, I figured I'd throw this out there.

I did a little research (I know! Crazy, right?) According to Disney, the princess franchise averages about 4 billion a year. The fairies franchise (which is quite a bit younger) has grown to about 2 billion a year. However, the princess franchise has levelled off whereas the fairies franchise is still growing.

2 billion a year and growing hardly seems like a failure to me.

Oh, and they just greenlit a 5th direct-to-vid movie.

Isn't research awesome? Imagine all the things we can learn! Anyway the 5th movie sounds great, I loved the first two. I really want to see this become a success and I believe that eventually many Disney fans will embrace it.

SO in SDL when it opens there can be nothing new in FL? Everything should just be a clone??? They can't make something original???

:brick:

Wth?

They can, it just has to be from hand drawn animation or Walt-era like every other Disneyland style park

Disney recently added Slate to the Pixie Hollow online world, but the movie series has had male characters. Terrance, Bobble, and Clank are all great characters. Bobble and Clank are pretty funny and Terrance is the character that kind of holds everything together, he supplies the fairies with their pixie dust. Also the guys are not fairies, they are sparrow men. I don't know if these characters actually appeal to boys, but its a start. Maybe some of the Disney XD characters will make it into the parks for the boys?

I was recently flipping through my copy of the 2009 UOG and I caught a blurb from Jim Hill that I'd missed previously. In it he says that in 2011 (I think) LMA is going to be taken down and rethemed to Cars to coincide with the release of Cars 2. I had not heard this rumor and I know that most of what Jim Hill spouts as gospel is just that, rumor, but it's still an interesting concept.

This.
If/when Carsland/Radiator Springs comes to WDW, it is slated for DHS.

Phase 2 of the FLE is still Pixie-themed. What it will include is still uncertain.

As always plans tend to change....but not to the extent that PH would be replaced by Cars.

I would wager that Jim would like to have that one back.

I don't get this So what if they wanted to put an Alice dark ride in FL based off of the live action film. This wouldn't belong because it isn't hand drawn animation?

I was just posted a reply to another thread and this idea came to me. Its wishful thinking but if we brain storm and come up with enough great ideas for radiator springs in place of pixie hollow maybe we can get enough attention.
I will start with a few ideas I had off the top of my head.
Flow V8 café quick service restaurant
Luigi’s tire store themed kids play area with tires to crawl in.
A real life Guido walking around like wall-e or lucky
Re-theme the roller coaster to Lightning were you load the trains in a building that looks like Mack.
Forget Roger Rabbit from DL, let’s do a Matter’s wild ride were all the cars go backwards. It can be another D-ticket dark ride.
Ramone’s body art stand were kids can get there face painted.
A wet play area with the fountain of Stanley.
............................

I am not against this going in DHS and being like cars land but if that isn’t in the plan something at MK would be nice, all I know is pixie is lame.

Anything Cars related will be in Pixar Place. Maybe in replacement of the backlot tour. No way a Radiator Springs comes to the Magic Kingdom. It ruins the Fantasy Forest idea.
