Question about Tony's

How easy is it to walk up to Tony's and get seated for lunch? I recently redid my ADR's and had to move a couple of things around, and that meant getting rid of my Tony's dinner reservation.
We're going the last week of March in 2012... Would it be pretty easy to get seated if we just walked up and asked to eat there, or do we need to get a reservation?

From what I recall Tony's is always booked. I would keep trying for an ADR and if you cant get one then I would walk up and see what happens. But I would not hold my breath that you will get in. We have had luck at Liberty Tree with a walk up in August once.

Hmm... Ok, thank you. Looks like I'll just have to rebook the reservation.

I was stupid and didn't pay attention before to where I was booking on what days; I would have been constantly park hopping (and losing valuable park time!) with the schedule we had before. :P

Which is funny, cause from what I hear Liberty Tree has MUCH better food than Tony's.

When I was there on Oct 1, they were turning everyone away from walk-ups. Even though they did tell alot of them to come back around 5:30. Not sure why..maybe they keep spots open for walk-ups then? This was at lunch time where we had a reservation.

But it was packed on the 1st due to it being the 40th so I'm not sure if it is always booked or not.

From my experiences lunch is usually easier to book than dinner when you are a walk up. Call WDR every so often if you cant get reservations online from now until your trip. With this new system they are starting with credit cards for reservations you may have a much better chance. Also I have found if I still couldn't the the reservations that I really wanted I called WDR mid-morning of the day I wanted the reservation for and was able to get in that way. Its only a phone call and worth a shot. Good luck!:sohappy:

I would re book and cancel if necessary.

Thanks everyone! I ended up booking a new reservation for dinner at Tony's for the night we arrive. ;) We had originally told our girls we weren't going into the parks the first night we got there, so this will be a little surprise.

For future knowledge, if you're trying a walkup, try going at the very start of whatever meal period you're trying for.

We went to City Hall and tried to get a same-day dinner ADR for Tony's with no luck, and took one for Liberty Tree instead. That afternoon, we were shopping on Main Street before dinner and decided to stop in and see if Tony's could take a walkup, and they could. We were told we might have to sit outside (it was early June), and we were expecting a bit of a wait, but we were seated in about 3 minutes at an indoor table. Though it may have helped that we were only 2, and it seemed like everyone else dining was 4 or more.

The CM at the podium also took the ADR info we had for LTT and canceled it for us.

Unless you have your heart set on Tony's go elsewhere ...
try CP or LTT or even Columia Habor House.

Not a fan of TTS

Good luck

We just returned home and had lunch ADRs for Liberty Tree on Sun and Tony's on Mon. When we arrived they were both @ an hour plus for walk ups. Both were great!

My husband & I love Tony's. We've eaten there the last 2 years and had great experiences both time. I had heard mixed reviews, so I was unsure the first time we went there, but we both liked it.

In May, we waited about 20-30 minutes for our table, even with an ADR. We saw countless people getting turned away. Then, right before we got seated, we heard one CM tell another, "Ok we can start taking walk-ins now". And they started taking a few walk-ins. I don't know what the logic was there, but it's all a matter of luck & timing to get a walk-in.

Glad you got your ADR!
