Puerto Rico in talks to host permanent pavilion in Epcot by 2017

I don't know how to feel about this. I'm all for a new pavilion, but Puerto Rico isn't my ideal newcomer. I mean I'm not against it or anything like that. Puerto Rico can offer a rich and insightful experience inside of its historic culture should it come to WS. I simply think with the current political status of Puerto Rico, it's a confusing addition. In other words, it would not have been my first choice, but I'm happy to hear that something new may be coming to freshen up the scene.

That makes sense. While I'm not so sure about Botswana, Ghana's economy seems to be doing pretty well, so they may be able to come up with funding. South Africa would be a good choice and I'm sure they'd be able the fund the pavilion. Honestly I'd much rather they add attractions to some of the existing pavilions first before they move along with any new pavilion plan.

Keep in mind south Africa is heavily represented at kidani village in animal kingdom lodge. the whole part of the resort I based on it including Sanaa restaurant.

Orlando ya es un municipio... 79 o 80.

:)

This is about the one reason I could see it actually becoming at a minimum a regular at the F&W. The local boricuas (puertoricans) probably love it :inlove:. And there are a ridiculous amount of them in Orlando (Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, FL MSA - 269,781 as of 2010 Census).

I just about drooled when I read the menu. For obvious reasons, it sounded very appealing to my palate. ;)

I'd get a beer elsewhere though... Medalla is definitely not a beer I'd like to have after having been exposed to the plethora of options produced by the wave of craft beers in the US. :) It's like going to a pub with 100 draft options and asking for a budlight. o_O

The AKL is not a public area, only resort guests are normally there and only those who stay there so it is a tiny little fraction of the visitors to WDW who actually see this area at all, so you definitely cannot count the area in a resort as a reason why something shouldn't be in the parks. But the existence of Africa as a land of the DAK IS a reason why we will possibly never see an African pavilion at the WS,

To sum it up, I am not very picky about what should be built at WS, a new attraction at an existing pavilion, a whole new pavilion or whatever I don't care as long as SOMETHING is added there. 26 years of stalemate are more than enough.

Asia is a land in DAK, and WS has China and Japan.

Metralla. I refuse to drink that. I'm one of the people involved with the craft beer scene on the island.

It is just a fact of succeeding that usually takes place. If one declares themself a seperate entity from the Union, than all of the benefits (including the military that is federally owned) go bye bye. It may not be a violent retaliation but more just a fact. You don't separate yourself and then keep the benefits. Perhaps my wording seemed definite as of course anything could happen, but its not likely to because of those reasons.

Just wanted clarification on that 'war' thing. Thanks. :)

I'd rather see more nations in WS but an outer ring of diverse states like Texas or California might work.

Let's face it, if a big corporate sponsor throws enough money at Disney, a new WS pavilion will be built. I suggest we encourage Don Q to sponsor a Puerto Rico pavilion and we get Hormel Foods to sponsor a Hawaiian pavilion. They could have bars and counter service food so everyone could drink quality rum and eat Spam sandwiches. Yummy!

Again, people keep saying that, but is there some sort of rule that Epcot pavilions have to be independent countries? Why does it matter?
Well they are all countries right now, but it is called World Showcase which to me the theme indicates that they only need to represent locations around the World, countries or not. So, I agree with you.

This could totally happen now, since Disney took over Norway's attraction, though for some of the countries they'd probably wish to make new movies first, now that WS is switching from genuine, focused on the nation attractions, to movie themed attractions.

This area doesn't really count, as its not an attraction in the typical, everyone will see it sense.

A pavillion at WS, would be different than the land in DAk though, since could show more about this history, culture, etc. also different people go to WS than DAK, or the same people go, but while your in these different places you have a different midset.

I'd rather see more nations in WS but an outer ring of diverse states like Texas or California might work.
states at WS would be terrible, save that for the American History Focused park that was canceled.
Asia in DAK is neither Japan nor China, it is a mixture of mostly India, Southeast Asia and Nepal. However Africa in DAK is very definitely somewhere in the countires whic where the originally inspiration for the planned pavilion of "Equatorial Africa" .

inspiration for a fantasy world is one thing, a pavillion would focus more on history, etc. so the idea that it's at dak is no reason it can't be done at ws.. and as disney likes to do things on the cheap, an africa pavillion would be cheaper to do, since they already have costumes and building designs
