Project plans spotted at Haunted Mansion

Being that they only looked like GSM's (Guest Service Managers), I bet anything that they were just paperwork for the queue setup outside. I think they are still trying to configure the queue setup since fastpass was taken out. Lots of attractions have paperwork like that for the queue so they can set up extra for when it gets busy.

They are blueprints for a project and I have seen them. It's not just paperwork. All they are planning is a renovation of the queue area. They're looking at how it can be reorganized for better guest flow and to see if more srtoller parking can be added. That's all it is, nothing more.

Backing up post. Plans are for queue area.Fast pass has been discontinued, and the area around it and the shop and stroller parking is being looked at to resolve some issues with stroller parking and traffic flow for HMs queue entrance and exit areas.Plans also include some reworking for Liberty Belles queue and along waterfront around to HMs queue.

Thank goodness. This issue is long overdue to be addressed. The Haunted Mansion area was always a giant traffic jam on busy days and the strollers were a nightmare at times. Of course that was when they had standby, fastpass entrance and distrubution, strollers, the exit, and that outdoor merchandise cart all in the same little area.

like i said earlier..the guy in the red shirt is a GSM (Peter). I cannot see the face of the other guy, but he does have a blue ID, meaning he is salary. If anyone wants to send me the full pic i can confirm if the other guy is a GSM of AD/LIB.

My bet is on the rehab project that they did at DL. I've heard great things about it already and a few adjustments like that could really help along the story at the WDW version of the HM.

Unfortunately it's already been mentioned in this thread that this upcoming HM project is a small rework of the queue and stroller parking area.

If they were going to be reworking the interior ride and the special effects, they wouldn't stand around outside the ride with a blueprint of the queue.

It's also been confirmed in this thread that the two guys in the picture are relatively lower level management in the Park Operations department. They have little control over big-picture budget or design direction. These guys don't make creative decisions about the special effects in the ride, they make decisions about where to park strollers. :snore:

I'm not sure what those particular blueprints are for, but I can confirm that they are trying to reorganize the front queue. After seeing others' Photopass "Magic" pictures from in front the HM (Photopass inserts one of the hitchhiking ghosts into the photo), I finally decided to get one for myself...

...and no one was there. I checked into it, and found that although the position simply wasn't staffed that day, they won't be able to shoot it much longer because that area will be changed (this information came from one of their managers).

A significant refurb IS on the way. Either the HM or Space Mt. will be the next classic attraction to receive the IaSW/PotC-style makeover.

Yes, I've heard those rumors too.

But the picture that started this thread is of two Operations guys low on the management totem pole talking about where to park strollers. The big technical/artistic/design rehab for Haunted Mansion is still just a rumor. :animwink:

The pic I took

I wish I spent a little extra time near them to get more details. I was not very close when I took the picture or it would have been more clear to read the blueprints.

The only thing I can add is this.

They were pointing around the front area so I also believe the plans are for re-working the front area and queue line. The plan size looks like one maybe two pages so it is nothing major at all, if they brought them all that is.

Here is the picture in full resolution.

Ok. The big unfolded print that "blue shirt" is holding has the words "AS BUILT" written on the bottom of the sheet. That means it is a drawing of how that area was actually built, either in original construction or during renovations. It is NOT a drawing for new plans or construction. I can't vouch for the one in "red shirt's" hand.

Nevertheless, it does indeed appear that the big sheet is a site plan of some sort - the curvy lines are not typical of architectural building plans, but moreso of site plans and topo plans. I would put my money on stroller/queue revamping.

OK the two of you are on the right track....Queue!!!! Trust me thats all they were looking at. I'm sure we all would like to see more come from WDW Mansion, but its not time for that yet :)
