Princess themed rooms coming to Port Orleans Resort

They don't directly reference French Quarter or Riverside, but the link goes to Riverside. Hopefully that is the case. Those rooms would be very out of place in FQ. Kinda out of place in Riverside, but I can barely see it working.

If it was just princess Tiana I think that it would be somewhat alright, however I think it's a pretty big stretch to say she is inviting her friends along so all the princesses are included. Rooms look nice, but I'm not a big fan of story dilution like that.

Yeah I agree. Tiana rooms I could see working as a story line but obviously they want the rooms to focus on the more popular princesses. Doesn't work at all in my opinion.

I think this is fantastic. Hopefully, they are so successful that the HM rooms get a second look.

Still, we'll probably hold out for the LM rooms in Art of Animation. Ariel is a favorite. But odds are we'll get around to both.

I think every princess room should be at a different resort because there is not one that all of their themes fit with. Also when you get down to marketing some resorts will become more popular than others because they would have this and some won't therefore some resorts will be left out sort of in the dark because some will be favored over other.

Seems like they are keeping this with the moderate resorts for now and Caribbean Beach already has it's pirate rooms. While I can see a little effect on occupancy rates I think that the distinct themes and premium price don't sway people from one to another all that much.

I have a feeling that the HM room concept was probably only popular with our crowd (the fanboys). A lot of families have little girls who's heros are Princesses but I'm not sure how many families are interested in staying in a "haunted" room. Most first timers don't even know there is a haunted mansion in Disney! I would guess that these rooms will have a higher price per night just like the Pirate rooms at CBR. More families would be willing to shell out the extra bucks to get their little princess in a Princess room than a haunted room! IMO

For what it's worth, I liked the concept of the HM rooms!

Was looking forwad to the HM rooms, but the royal princess rooms look neat too. Looks like they tried to be somewhat gender neutral in the color scheme. Guessing they will be at the mansions at Riverside? since POFQ just finished their rennovations.

Ding ding ding!

We have a winner. I'm sure there are plenty of folks that would like a HM room. But those numbers are dwarfed by the number who would be interested in a princess-themed room. Outside of the die-hard Diseny theme park enthusiasts, an HM room is just cartoonish and lightly creepy. Although I'm sure it would have also appealed to goths.

I would agree. I could see a few nut cases complaining about being forced to stay in a satanic inspired room.

Per the disney world blog. These were the same rooms pictured on a survey I filled out last year so hopefully haunted mansion rooms will be coming soon.

It's great to see something go from survey to production in such a short time. If only it worked that way for attractions! LOL

I truely hope this is not the the Partaree Place building at POR. That is my favorite area and we are in that section just about every year. I dont see the need for them at POR as much as POFQ, as POR always seems to be the most packed (see DHS bus line at closing) and to me it ruins the whole backstory of the resort.
