Princess Storybook Dining or 1900 Park Fare?

Need to make our Dining Reservations tomorrow for October stay. My 12 yr old has decided she wants to eat with the Princesses but when we looked at the menu on All Ears - the food didn't look appetizing, & the reviews were mixed. We also looked at 1900 Park Fare but I believe the only "princess" she would meet would be Cinderella? This would be our first dining experience at both of these restaurants and I'm curious to hear feedback from anyone who has experienced either or both. Both of these dining ressies would be for dinner. Can anyone help?

Park Fare is good, its a buffet and yes, Cinderella is the only one there, but it also has her stepmother and stepsisters who are hilarious! Its a really fun experience.

Now, Akershus in Epcot has the most princesses, she would love that!
You would have to look at the menu to see if you would like it. I know our girls loved Akershus; being able to take pics with 5 princesses?!? Yeah, it was great for them.

If your daughter wants princesses, Akershus would be my suggestion, but Park Fare would be my other one.

If your daughter wants princesses, and you're trying to decide between Akershus and 1900PF- I'd go with Akershus since you'll only be getting Cindy at 1900PF. Plus, I think Akershus' interior is much more "princessy" (i.e. castle like). You're going to find mixed food reviews with both. We had lunch at Akershus back in Dec and most everyone in our party really loved what they ordered. My mom had the lunch portion of the mushroom pasta and still raves about it. On the flip side, several friends of mine told me that the food for dinner at 1900PF was nearly inedible and that the meal was only worth it for the step sister interaction (assuming they're there). I found more negative reviews on the 1900PF dinner vs Akershus, so we scrapped our ADRs for 1900PF dinner last trip. We are going to take our chances and try 1900PF dinner in Aug. Ultimately, CRT was our fave princess meal.

I'd say if you want maximum princesses, go to Akershus, but go for breakfast because we thought dinner there was awful.

Our daughter (7) is also a princess fanatic. We do both Akershus breakfast and 1900 Park Fare dinner almost every single trip

Food is always a subjective discussions. We like both just about the same. Akershus breakfast is what you would expect, but with the magic of Loganberry muffins. 1900 dinner is similarly predictable, but generally a couple things are interesting (strawberry soup usually wins some praise).

Princess-wise, as already stated, Akershus is the most princess bang for your buck with visits from the lot and also posed pictures with (majority of the time) Belle. 1900 has the great advantage of characters that are more than just a beautiful, charming princess. The prince has many times charmed my wife. The ugly stepsisters have been a major influence that my wife has now sewn both Drizella and Anastasia costumes and our daughter would rather dress as them than as a princess! (which also has led to great moments, including a parade through ther restaurant with Anastasia on one visit)

So, what am I recommending?? Not sure. Do both! Good food, good time, just about every major princess via two meals and no waiting in meet and greet lines.

Here some evidence of the fun at 1900.

I'm not much help as I love them both! I've been to both for breakfast and dinner and thought all 4 meals were fabulous!

Great characters at both places. Did anyone mention that you get to dance with Cinderella and Prince Charming at 1900 Park Fare? You don't get THAT at Akershus OR CRT! Some of my favorite memories - my daughter dancing with Prince Charming - the look on her face like she always knew this was where she was meant to be!

You can't go wrong either way!

Thanks for everyone's input...my 12 yr old decided late last night to forego the princess dining & requested we book the Ohana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch instead. She knows how much Stitch freaks her older sister out so this is her way of getting some laughs!:)

Yay! We love the Ohana breakfast, it's a must every trip. You can always line up for the princess meet and greets in Magic Kingdom and throughout Epcot for some autographs and facetime. We will be trying out that 1900 Park Fare in August and I can't wait! Enjoy!!

Do you really!?!? We will be having dinner there on my DD's 7th bday. We have never been! She would flip if that really happened!!

We had dinner at Akershus and had a great time. My daughter was in heaven with all the princesses! You can get better than them coming to you. The food was fine. Seriously I would eat a bowl of cereal to have that experience again. We would definitely do again!!

We like both...we have done dinner at Princess Storybook & 1900 Park Fare...we have also done breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.

Princess Storybook Dinner
Food is pretty good.
Character interaction is great (we even saw Cinderella there twice).
Service is good.
Atmosphere is nice.
A photo package w/ a princess (usually Belle) is included.

1900 Park Fare Dinner
Food is good - lots to choose from.
Character interaction is great - the stepmother & stepsisters are hilarious.
Service is good.
Atmosphere is nice.

I would recommend both.

I'd say go with Akershus, and go for breakfast. My niece has said that it was her favorite princess meal. And we adults enjoyed the breakfast!

You do! Just be sure to listen carefully for the music to begin and send your daughter up as soon as you hear it. They always dance in the middle, to the right of the buffet area. I think the Prince just invites the little girl closest to him when the music starts to dance, then after a minute or two, he dances with other children like Cinderella does.

Here is a photo of my nieces (in pink( dancing in a circle with Cinderella in December. As soon as I heard the music, I shooed them up there! You can see Prince Charming twirling one little girl in the background.

I hated the lunch food at Akershus - I would think the breakfast would be much better. So I'm with those who recommends doing that. We definitely met a ton of Princesses, and I imagine if I had little girls they would have loved it. The interior is also really beautiful!
