I've been to the Princess Storybook Lunch at Akershus and it was fantastic for seeing Princesses. The day I went we had Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White. Don't think I'm forgetting anyone. They spent alot of time at the tables and it was really nice to see so many at one place!
I was nervous about the food, but it turned out to be pretty good! :wave:

We've done the princess breakfast in Norway. Cinderella is also at the Grand Floridian at 1900 Park Fair. It's called Cinderella's Gala Feast. We did dinner there our first night. It was really good. Right now it's a plated meal but normally it's a buffet. (they are doing renovations)

Oh, yay, eagles! I'm so excited that you have started planning this!
We usually have breakfast in the castle with cinderella and we also usually do the breakfast at Akershus, which is a great princess experience. They are very chatty with the kids and ask them their names etc. No cinderella here, though.
Dinner at the castle I believe is not a character meet and greet. I think cinderella is in the lobby taking a quick picture. Then I believe that there is a show of sorts with the mice and the fairy godmother. But the characters don't come around to your table that I know of- someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
If you are really looking for a dinner with cinderella, I would suggest trying 1900 Park Fare. I believe Cinderella, Prince Charming and the mice are there. I've heard good things- I've only been there for the breakfast.
If you are just looking for the best quality in princess meets, I would recommend Akershus. Like I said they are great there. We have seen: Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine, Mulan, and Mary Poppins there. The only problem with that one may be the menu. Breakfast is regular fare, but dinner is more traditional norway stuff. You may want to take a look at the menu and see if it would be something you would like.

I have a coworker who is thinking of going next year with her 7 year old daughter...well, 8 by then. She is interested in doing a character meal with her daughter, specifically with Cinderella.
I told her I would get on here over lunch and find out what restaraunts have Cinderella.
When we went in 2004 and ate supper at Cinderella's Royal Table, we briefly saw Cinderella. However, not only is that restaraunt very expensive, but my 2006 Biernbaum book also lists it only as a Character meal at breakfast. Is that something new since 2004, or is he just wrong?
1900 Park Fare has Cinderella, but is she guaranteed to be there all the time, or is she only there part of the time?
And I saw some people mention Akershus. Is she there almost all the time, or only part of the time?
Are those the only 3 restaraunts with cinderella? And of those that have her, is it every meal, only breakfast, only supper, etc?

She's guaranteed. Prince Charming and the mice were walking around too. The Fairy Godmother was in the lobby. It was really nice. My dd and son dressed up for it. Cinderella even kissed him when she found out she is his favorite Princess! lol (he's only 4)

Akershus doesn't have cinderella. I know I have seen some people mention that they saw her there, but it must be a rarity because she is not normally billed to be there.
She is at 1900 Park Fare for dinner and that would probably be what I would recommend for the most interaction with her.
She takes pictures at the castle for the character meals there, but it really is just a quick thing. She says some nice things and then you move on. If ;you are really into cinderella, I would say you would probably get more interaction at 1900 Park Fare.

She is listed as a "May Appear" Character at dinner.
and sbkline, while I love the Birnbaum book I find its often wrong and outdated, even with the newest versions. All three meal at CRT are character meals.

Can't help you with that, even though I have 2 daughters they have never wanted to eat there. :lol:
Looking at the description on allearsnet, dinner is described as "hosted by the Fairy Godmother"...that is not mentioned for breakfast and lunch. :shrug:

We did the Royal Table breakfast last September. Cinderella was downstairs posing for pictures. Upstairs (in the dining room) the Fairy Godmother, Mary Poppins, Belle, and Aurora circulated around. I thought it was very overrated for the cost. This past May we did the Storybook dinner at Akershus. Much better than CRT, IMO. We saw Aurora, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, and Belle. Their guest interaction was wonderful and we enjoyed the "different" food.
Definitely check out the Unofficial Guide. They have an entire section on character meals. It really helped us choose ours.

Oh, thanks, tigsmom. I didn't know that she ever appeared there, we usually do breakfast because of the dinner menu there.
Now I'm thinking that I may have to try the dinner there next time to see if we could see cinderella and of course that all elusive ariel in human form.

We did the Akershus lunch - DD17 wanted to try something different - we liked the food. The pork BBQ came with some of the best cole slaw I'd ever tasted and the dessert plate was really good. The princesses really spent a lot of time at each table, and we didn't even have any little ones. Mermaid Ariel was available for pictues when we went in and we saw Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, & Alice. Our server was so sweet, too.

Cinderella does appear at Norway, though quite rare.
Cinderella is supposed to be at all 3 meals in the Castle.

Cinderella was at Akershus when we went in May. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Princesses but don't want to do Cinderella's Castle. The Princess saturation is HIGH! Little girls will not be disappointed. Mom and Dad may though, because the food is really just kind of blah. Go for the Princesses only lol... I would rather eat the Fish and Chips in the British Pavillion myself!

I've done each of the three princess character meals: (Akerhaus, Castle & 1900 Park Fare). For all three many of the kids are in costume, but not all.
Cinderella's Royal Table: I've done lunch here. Dinner is scheduled for this September trip. Cinderella greets you as you enter the castle, you take a quick picture, she's very sweet to your daughter and then you head upstairs. You don't see her again, regardless of which meal it is. For breakfast & lunch, other princesses, female characters or the Fairy Godmother go from table to table. They sign autographs, take pictures and interact. Little girls are given a wand and boys get a sword. At one point during the meal everyone waves their wands, lights flash and they tell you make a wish. It's great, my daughter really enjoyed it. Dinner at the castle is greeting Cinderella as you enter and once inside the Fairy Godmother & the mice dance around & sing but rarely sign autographs or interact.
Akerhaus: I've only done breakfast & dinner here. You're greeted at the door by one princess, we've had Ariel & Belle in ballgowns. Other princesses or female characters (like Mulan, Marry Poppins or Alice) go from table to table, signing autographs, taking pictures and interacting. I wouldn't have wished for anything else. Breakfast is traditional American food (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, etc.) served family style. Dinner is an appetizer buffet and then you order Norwegian food off the menu. It was an interesting dinner and I'm glad I tried it once. Again, my daughter loves this and we now do breakfast every year.

Well, that's disappointing. Must have changed the menu from 2006 to 2007. There wasn't any kind of pasta dish to choose from when we were there, either.
